Carn Ban offers spectacular panoramic views of Ben Edra and the Quiraing mountains. The whole Trotternish area is a nature lover’s paradise dominated by The Ridge extending from Portree northwards including The Old Man of Storr, Ben Edra and the Quiraing. There are a wide variety of outdoor pursuits including sea, river and loch fishing, coastal and hill walking, bird watching (Golden Eagles, Buzzards and Sea Eagles) sailing, safe bathing and pony trekking. It is a walker’s, birdwatcher’s, photographer's and artist's paradise with all the stunning landscape and views. One of the few sandy beaches on the island is situated in Staffin bay, a 5 minute walk from the property, where there is also a harbour and slipway giving access out to the sea and where the fossilised footsteps of the dinosaurs were discovered in 2002. There is no better base in which to explore the Island and its many peninsulas.
