Vacation Rental Description
lyndalan cottage in years gone by was a small holding. Around the turn of the 20th century it was used as a work base for cobblers and tailors. Children from the former Longcastle school would come and get a bowl of soup or jammy piece for a penny. 
The cottage has been refurbished to a high standard, yet has retained much of its old character with exposed beams, original fire place with wood burning stove and traditional farmhouse kitchen with natural stone wall. 
There are 2 double bedrooms,the main one with en-suite toilet and shower.The downstairs bathroom has a bath and electric shower.The spacious and cosy living roomhas TV,VCR,DVD and CD player as wellas a selection of board games. the beautiful sunroom has comfortable seating and looks out on the enclosed country cottage garden with furniture and barbecue. 
The area is rich in history and natural beauty.Not far away is the royal burgh of Whithorn associated with St Ninnian who first brought christianity to scotland in the 5th century. There is also the visitor centre and priory further on is the beautiful harbour vilage of the Isle of Whithorn. There are lovely beaches as well as many golf courses. The area offers sea angling coarse fishing and shooting as well as wooded and coastal walks or why not explore on a bicycle. There are many country pubs and tea rooms to refresh you along the way.
