Vacation Rental Description
Noddsdale is a B listed country house in North Ayrshire. We have 2 wings for use as self catering holiday homes.  
 
With its own entrance, The Bell Loft, as the name suggests, is up a flight of stairs and has 2 bedrooms, with either twin or a 6ft kingsize double bed. There are 2 bathrooms, both with showers (one over bath) and a living room/kitchen with a Belfast sink and all that is required to make your stay as comfortable and memorable as possible.  
 
The East Wing is accessed by a flight of external steps to the front door and is the former guest wing for the house. It has 1 bedroom with either twin beds or a 5ft double. There is also a sofabed in the large sitting room which has a most unusual pitched ceiling. There is a kitchen/diningroom and a hall with the option of a further bed if required.  
 
Both properties are very special and high quality. We welcome children 10 years and over, but regret we do not take pets. 
 
The grounds are extensive and the scenery from the hill behind the house is stunning and well worth the walk. There is a lovely garden around the house with wonderful colours in the Spring. There are outside areas for your use and seats to enjoy the view. The Tennis Court was re-surfaced in 2010 and as long as you bring the right footwear you are welcome to use it. If you can, please bring your own racquets and balls. We can lend you some equipment if necessary - just ask! There is plenty of space for car parking.

    Noddsdale is in Brisbane Glen on the old road to Greenock via Loch Thom. It has stunning views over the Firth of Clyde and on a clear day the Paps of Jura can be glimpsed from up the hill behind the house. The islands of Arran, Bute and Cumbrae are all visible from the house and are great days out. Set amongst gardens and mature woodland, this is a beautiful place to visit. Brisbane Glen is so named because Sir Thomas McDougall Brisbane lived in Brisbane House, now no longer standing, before travelling to Australia where he was made Governor of New South Wales and hence Brisbane, Australia was born!

    A 50% non refundable deposit is taken at the time of booking and full payment required 6 weeks before the holiday begins. Insurance is recommended. Children 10 and over are welcome. Sorry no pets. Payment can be made by bank transfer/cheque or paypal. Details on request.

    Noddsdale - a unique holiday experience!

    My paternal grandfather bought Noddsdale Estate in 1921 and the family have lived here ever since. I grew up at Noddsdale and moved away when I married Chris, my husband. He was in a Scottish Regiment and we moved so frequently that we decided we would rather put roots down and give our 3 children the chance to be more settled. We moved back in 1993. My mother first started renting out the East Wing in 1980 or so, through an agency and that worked well until about 2005 when we decided to try doing the marketing ourselves and get the detail right. We now have the Bell Loft to offer as well as the East Wing and much enjoy meeting so many people. We all work in the grounds to keep things looking good and we recently had the the Tennis Court re-surfaced.

    We had several self catering holidays when the children were growing up and most were great - one was dreadful - and so we are very aware of the importance of having a good experience with most of the things you would have at home. What is the point in spending too much time washing up etc!

    We aim to give you the opportunity to relax and recharge the batteries at Noddsdale and try not to get in the way, alhough are happy to help if required!
