Vacation Rental Description
Situated on a working croft on the shores of Loch Linnhe, Linnhe Croft Holiday Cottages enjoy stunning panoramic views which include the great sea loch of Loch Linnhe itself with its many islands, including the isles of Lismore and Shuna. The hills of Movern and mountains of the Isle of Mull encompass this large expanse of water and contribute to the stunning sunsets the cottages enjoy given their westerly aspect.
The cottages were newly built in 2004 in the traditional Highland style but with all the modern requirements. So, where possible, larger windows were included to enjoy the spectacular views while the interior was laid to open plan. Fitted kitchens are well planned to provide lots of storage space with well appointed white goods. They are heated by an oil central heating system and hot water is constant. The cottages, which are a row of 3 attached homes, sit in their own grounds laid to lawn and ample parking, in a corner of the 6 acre croft which farms sheep. The croft is situated in the village of Port Appin and sits back from the main road making it a safe and peaceful retreat without feeling too isolated. The loch shore can be accessed directly from the croft and is a young explorer's playground with a wide variety of rocks/stones to identify along with all the usual shore life. It is also a great place to go for a long, peaceful walk any time of the year.
Each cottage sleeps 4 to 5 plus baby and is completely self-contained with private access, shared garden and ample parking. The large entrance hall leads into a spacious, bright, open plan lounge/diner and fully equipped kitchen. Patio doors from the lounge lead directly onto a large private deck with patio furniture to enjoy the panoramic views and sunsets and access the communal lawn. The lounge includes a comfortable 2 seater sofa bed and second 2 seater sofa, a wide screen TV and DVD player, CD/Radio/Tape player, toys, games and books. The bathroom is on the ground floor and includes separate bath and shower. There are two spacious bedrooms, one double and one twin which include duvets, throws and 2 pillows of varying sizes for each occupant. Along with all elementary requirements each cottage is equipped with washing machine, dishwasher, fridge, electric cooker, microwave oven, hairdryer, cot and highchair (if required). Each cottage is very homely and comfortable with many extra little touches. All bedding is included in the tariff as is the electricity and heating. Extra boxes are included for recycling paper/cardboard, plastic bottles, glass and tins.
Your stay at these cottages gives you access to the village of Port Appin with its community shop/post office, 2 top quality restaurants, including great local sea food and game, open gardens, bicycle hire, ferry to the Isle of Lismore and Highland village atmosphere. The area of Appin with its rich history and its stunning location and many walks and opportunities to observe a wide variety of birds and other wildlife.
