Vacation Rental Description
Just a quiet road separates Seatown Cottage from the river Lossie and the bridge across to the fabulous sandy East Beach. 
 
Downstairs there is a spacious dining room/living area with its inglenook fireplace and wood burning stove, which keeps the room warm and welcoming even on the coldest of winter nights. The adjoining galley kitchen has lovely views of Lossiemouth and the harbour, especially when the ‘esplanade’ is lit up at night. Making the cottage especially attractive for families (who don't always want to watch cbeebies!) there is also a second lounge or the 'snug', with two leather settees and a second inglenook fireplace, this time with a gas ‘coal effect’ burning stove. There is also a downstairs toilet, and a small cupboard housing the washing machine. 
 
Upstairs there are two bedrooms: the first with a king size double bed, the other with twin beds. This room has space for a camp bed for an additional child. Each room has a large window with window seat cushions – the perfect place to enjoy a glass of wine whilst savouring the river and beachfront views? 
 
Outside there is a gravelled hardstanding providing off-street parking for 2 cars, and a small patio garden. Garden furniture and a barbeque are provided.

    • Local castles include Ballindalloch Castle, Brodie, Cawdor, Elgin Cathedral, Fort George and the ruins of Huntly castle. 
     
    Johnstons Cashmere Visitor Centre and Shop has been making beautiful knitwear, clothing and accessories from the most luxurious wools known to man for over two centuries.  
     
    The Moray Firth contains a resident population of Bottlenose dolphins in excess of 140 animals, making it the largest such population in the North Sea. There are also large populations of both Common and Grey seals, harbour popoises and some fabulous marine bird watching opportunities.  
     
    The Malt Whisky Trail - Speyside is home to more than half of Scotland's working distilleries. Pass some of the Highlands' most spectacular scenery and attractive villages and towns as you visit any or all of the distilleries along the way.  
     
    Try one of Moray's many golf clubs - This is the Region where green fees are among the most affordable in the land.

    Attention to detail and providing a 'home-from-home' experience is our goal

    My husband and I travelled extensively before settling in the North East of Scotland to run a guest house. With young twins (born May 2006) taking up more and more of our time, we wanted to stay in the tourism industry and help to promote the beautiful area we live in, so decided to re-focus on self catering cottages.

    We love eating at The Duffus Inn, especially on one of their speciality Seafood evenings. Other places we frequent are The Crown & Anchor in Findhorn, The Beach Bar and Skerry Brae in Lossiemouth, The Harbour Inn in Burghead, Pattaya in Elgin.

    With the twins, we love to visit the marine Aquarium, along the coast at MacDuff, the ruins of Duffus and Huntly castles as well as Elgin Cathedral and Synie Palace, Lossie East beach, Roseisle and Clashach Cove. And on wet days, The Playbarn at Llanbryde can keep under 12's amused for hours.

    Without the twins we enjoy partaking in the odd dram or two, but please don't ask me to name a favourite, and Ballindalloch and Brodie castles are hard to beat. For a bit of shopping (without the husband!) I head to Johnstons or Brodie Countryfare.

    I hope this gives you a flavour of the area, and hope you come and visit one day. And PS, the sunshines more than you would expect up here - that's why we have 2 RAF bases on our doorstep!
