4-star Self Catering accommodation in the picturesque fishing village of Gardenstown, Northeast Scotland.Seilie Cottage is a traditional fisherman’s cottage, dating back to the mid 1800s and located in the conservation area of Gardenstown. The cottage has been sensitively renovated to provide superior self catering accommodation, and the 4-star rating by VisitScotland reflects this.
Gardenstown is ideally situated between the cosmopolitan city of Aberdeen with its bustling shops and vibrant nightlife, and Inverness, the capital of the Highlands.
Gardenstown is a quaint seaside village that is terraced amongst red sandstone cliffs. Paths wind among the terraces and provide glimpses of some amazing scenery, from the picturesque harbour to the waves crashing on the rocks below.
A short walking distance from Seilie Cottage is the Garden Arms Pub which is full of character, and serves excellent evening meals (reservations recommended). The village also has a butcher, a baker, and a small gallery.
Seilie Cottage can sleep up to 4 people comfortably in its 2 bedrooms, and there is a double sofabed in the lounge if needed. The cottage is central heated throughout.
•On the ground floor there is a large comfortable lounge with a woodburning stove and big cosy sofas. Colour TV , freeview & DVD player. There is also a cloakroom.
•On the first floor is a well appointed dining room that will seat 6 comfortably. Two antique armchairs make it a comfortable place to sit and read, listen to music & plan your activities. In the kitchen, you will find all that a self catering family is likely to need including a fridge-freezer, electric oven & hob, microwave, toaster, and coffee maker. It comfortably seats 4 at the kitchen table for informal dining.
On this level is the back door which leads to the back garden on 3 levels with outside seating on all levels.
•On the second floor are two bedrooms with very comfortable king size brass beds in each. Bathrobes and a hairdrier are provided. The bathroom has an electric shower over the bath.

Towels & bed linen provided. Patio in back garden for BBQs.

There are a great walks all around this area - beach, cliffs, woods.
Boat rides to see wildlife available.
Troup Head RSPB nature reserve is nearby.
Many castles & distilleries to explore.

Comfort and luxury is our aim.
We have recently purchased this delightful four star holiday accommodation in Gardenstown. It is our aim to provide a comfortable and luxurious experience for guests staying in our traditional fishermans cottage.
The northeast coast is magnificent and as you come into Gardenstown an air of tranquility comes over you - it is a perfect place for chilling out. The local villagers are all extremely helpful and friendly. There is a local baker and butcher - which you need time to explore, as they will keep you engaged in conversation as long as they have time to "news" (as they say in the Northeast of Scotland)
The hotel/pub is literally 20 feet from our front door. It is a source of good food, good conversation and information - should you wish to find out more about what goes on in the locality.
The cottage has three terraces - all of which are great places to sit out to eat, or just find a quiet spot in the sun to chill out with a book and a glass of wine - or indeed just to watch the seabirds on the cliffs or the waves on the beach. You can tell we really love it!
We live about 40 minutes from the cottage & from our house we look out at the most famous Northeast landmark - a hill called Bennachie. Our view changes by the minute and we are truly lucky to live in such a wonderful part of the country!
Aberdeenshire is a lovely place to live - with its wealth of history and magnificent scenery - as well as whisky, castles and haggis -its truly worth spending some time here there is so much to see and do.
