Bonsall is a small village named in the Domesday Book, with a history dating back to Roman times. Located at the heart of the Derbyshire Dales on the edge of the stunning Peak District National Park, Bonsall is a former lead mining and textile producing community infamous for the reporting of 19 alleged UFO sightings. The local Barley Mow pub even offers UFO walks to visitors, so you can see if there really is something out there…Matlock is four miles from this intriguing location, and offers a wide choice of shops and fine cuisine. Take the kids to Hall Leys Park in the centre of the town that offers a fantastic play area, boating, mini golf and tennis. The Heights of Abraham, Arkwright's Cromford Mill, Nine Ladies Stone Circle and Gulliver’s Kingdom are all waiting to be discovered nearby. The beautiful Chatsworth House and Park and the market town of Bakewell with its 14th Century Gothic bridge spanning the scenic River Wye are also within easy reach.
