This cottage is a beautifully renovated, detached property situated in a quiet cul-de-sac on the edge of the village of Rudyard. The cottage boasts original beams and a wood-burning stove as well as a charming garden room and a private enclosed garden. The lovely, bright bedrooms all overlook the mature gardens and orchard – ideal for summer dining outdoors - whilst the lake and steam railway are very close by. Regardless of the time of year, this wonderful property will make an excellent base for a memorable trip.

Shop 2 miles, pub 5 mins walk. Set in a lovely countryside location the charming village of Rudyard boasts an interesting claim to fame. Alice Macdonald and her fiancé Lockwood Kipling met on the shores of the nearby lake and so decided to name their first-born son after the place. Rudyard Kipling, born in 1865 went on to become a world renowned poet, novelist and short story writer. As well as this fateful lake, the Staffordshire village boasts excellent picnic spots, boating, walking and fishing opportunities as well as the steam railway. The thriving town of Leek is nearby and offers a variety of good pubs and restaurants as well as many antique shops. The beautiful Manifold Valley offers further walking opportunities with the "Manifold Trail" – an excellent route through superb scenery for walkers and cyclists.

Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental.<BR><BR>Off Season Breaks (OSB) are available at many properties in parts of the "Low" and "Mid" periods - subject to availability. The price for a 3 night break is either 75% of the normal weekly rental or, if it is higher, the quoted Winter Short Break price. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. OSBs can be booked within a calendar month of the start date of the holiday.<BR><BR>"Last Minute Breaks" (LMB) are available at most properties throughout the "LOW", "MID", "HIGH", "PEAK", "XMAS" and "NEW YEAR" periods. The price for a 3 night break is either 65% of the normal weekly rental or, if it is higher, the quoted Winter Short Break price. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental.
