Allonby village is situated between 2 first class golf courses. The bay is 5 miles long, you can learn to kite surf or hire various types of boats to explore the area from crashing through the waves in a ribrider to a more sedate studying of the birdlife and ecology. The Blue Flag beach is sandy with plenty of room for everyone. You can sea fish from the pier or beach, or other types of fishing are available nearby, some with instruction. There are many routes on which to mountain bike, or families may prefer the more organised trails available. You can test your nerve by going ape and traversing high level routes using swing bridges, ropes and pulleys, or try a day out ghyll walking learning how to climb through water courses.
