Halsteads is situated in a quiet village in the South Lake District close to the coast as well as the fells. It is only 15 minutes away from the festival market town of Ulverston, 20 minutes from Coniston or Barrow and 45 minutes from the Central Lakes. Travel to Halsteads is easy even in peak holiday season; the majority of the route on trunk roads through lovely scenery after leaving the motorway.

From the house there are spectacular views over Kirby Pool, the Duddon Estuary and Mosses and on a very clear day to the Isle of Man. Over thirty tops are visible including Coniston Old Man, Stickle Pike, Black Coombe and Scafell. It has a pastoral setting with sheep in the meadows behind.

Village amenities include two pubs, a railway station, Post Office and well stocked village shop, sports facilities and a children’s play park, churches and health centre. It is an excellent area for walking, cycling and wildlife as well as sightseeing and historical interest; the Cumbria Coastal path runs five minutes from the door. Banks and more extensive shopping and leisure facilities can be found in Ulverston or Barrow-in-Furness. Halsteads lies within the Tesco home delivery area for the convenience of internet shopping ordered from home to be delivered on your arrival.

Halsteads is particularly suitable for families or mixed age parties with elderly relatives or friends.

The kitchen is particularly well equiped with electric double oven and 5 ring gas hob. There is a very wide range of utensils and crockery to suit almost all cooks! The farmhouse style layout provides seating for up to 8 people in comfort.

For outside dining a large sundeck area to the side of the property provides the perfect BBQ area with uninterrupted views of the hills.

Prices include all bed lined, towels etc. Childs cot/high chair or elderly person assistance items available on request at no charge. Solid fuel for lounge stove at £6 per bag.

Payment by cheque (UK banks only), for debit/credit card or Paypal please enquire. Any credit card or transactions charges will be passed on to the customer.

Cancellation policy - if your holiday can be resold after payment of the balance any refund is at our discretion, we advise customers to carry travel insurance at the time of booking.
