Vacation Rental Description
Situated adjacent to Moresby Hall (a Grade I Listed Building) Rosmerta and Brighida cottages retain many original features. Both interiors are very spacious and fully co-ordinated to give a pleasing decor. The cottages are maintained to a high standard by the owners of Moresby Hall (Jane and David Saxon) and both will sleep 4 – 6 in comfort or up to 12 when combined. • Each cottage has a well equipped kitchen to enable guests to self-cater, or we will gladly serve dinner to you in the cottage if you have small children. For a special meal, make a reservation in Moresby Hall's elegant (fully licensed) dining room.
• Only guests staying in Rosmerta and Brighida cottage have access to the walled gardens in Moresby Hall’s grounds. A beautiful place to relax with a book or watch the children play. Use of new OAK ORANGERIE in the grounds.
• Superbly equipped with dishwasher, washer/dryer, fridge freezer, microwave etc. Many kitchen extras such as cleaning materials, dishwasher tablets, refuse sacks, soap etc. Colour TV, video, freeview box, CD player in each lounge area.
• A complimentary selection of quality hotel style toiletries provided for guests' enjoyment
• Colour TV in each bedroom
• Fully inclusive price - Free pack of basic groceries, wine, flowers and home-made cake, all gas / electric, towels and bed linen.
• Baby-sitting available (charged extra), travel cot, high chair and stair gate available at no charge.
• Each guest receives either one free English breakfast in Moresby Hall or a £6 discount off dinner in the evening during their stay.
You'll find a semi-rural setting by the coast just outside Whitehaven, a historic harbour town. This historic town has a stunning marina and much interest for all ages.
Convenient for North and West lakes, fells, cultural locations and tourist attractions. Variety of sports including a 3 golf courses and quarter of a mile from the C2C cycleway providing interest for all ages. There are many country fairs and places of interest to visit.
Other tourist attractions include the Rum Story, Muncaster castle & Owl Centre, The Rosehill Theatre, The Ravenglass miniature railway, beautiful coastal beaches and walks (see our website for a long THINGS TO DO page and web site links)
• Suitable for couples, families, business colleagues, sporting and themed groups.
• We do not accept hen or stag parties.
• Sorry no pets, but there is an excellent kennels locally for you to take your pet out each day (see our website for details)
• STRICTLY NON SMOKING (guests may smoke in the grounds only)
• Open Christmas and New Year.
• Both cottages combined sleep 10 – 12
• One night stay available charged at B & B rate (and includes breakfast in Moresby Hall)
• Two & three night stay at day rate (£60 - £120 per night)
• Four, five, Six nights charged pro-rata to weekly rate
• Only weekly bookings for Bank Holidays etc
Rosmerta cottage sleeps 4: One double, one twin, bathroom, lounge and dining kitchen. £295 low - £440 high (per week). Rosmerta cottage can also utilise an additional en-suite bedroom included (with massage power shower and sauna) and then this cottage is charged as for Brighida to sleep 6.
Brighida cottage sleeps 6: One double with en-suite shower room, two twin rooms, another bathroom, lounge and dining kitchen. £430 low - £660 high (per week)
One set of twin beds in each cottage can be linked to provide a king-size double. We can also provide small folding beds with bedding for smaller children in each cottage. Please advise in advance if these are required.

Deposit of £75 per week Balance due 8 wks prior to arrival Discount of 5% for payment in full on booking or bookings of 2 consecutive weeks + In the event that it is necessary to cancel after the balance has been paid in full, we will make every effort to relet the cottage, though it may be necessary to offer a late booking discount to the alternative guest. We will forward any monies recovered less our advertising / administrative charges (£50 max). We will make every effort to agree an alternative date (to be within 12 weeks of the original holiday date) so the monies are not forfeit. The guest may also transfer the booking to a third party to utilise within 12 weeks of the original date subject to availability. An administrative charge of £20 will be applicable and a new confirmation forwarded. If an alternative date cannot be agreed, or we are unable to relet, no refund of monies will be applicable.
