Vacation Rental Description
Tottergill Farm is located in an unspoilt and often undiscovered part of Cumbria. Set within 50 acres of its own grounds, Our five exclusive holiday cottages are accessed via a single track road around a reservoir, just outside the village of Castle Carrock. All cottages offer stunning views south to the Lake District hills and/or west over the reservoir to the Solway Firth and Scottish hills.Luxury accommodation in such a tranquil setting makes Tottergill an idyllic location for rest and relaxation. Each cottage has its own enclosed garden perfect for barbeques or just a glass of wine whilst taking in the view. Alternatively enjoy the scenery from indoors, snuggled up by the wood burning stove.
Gill Cottage sleeps 3
A cosy romantic cottage with gallery double bedroom. Single bedroom accessed via double. Shower room. Open plan kitchen/dining/lounge. Breathtaking views over reservoir to Solway Firth, Lakeland and Scottish hills.
We offer full week breaks from Friday to Friday. Short breaks are also available during off-peak season, please enquire.
All prices are fully inclusive of central heating, electricity etc, bed linen and towels, logs for the log burner, and complimntary use of the local leisure club including swimming pool, gym, sauna etc
We accept dogs in Gill(max 2 per cottage) £15 per stay.

Low Barn sleeps 4 - spacious 4* cottage, stunning panoramic views.
Gelt Cottage sleeps 4 - 5* rated double bedroom has flat screen TV. Newly fitted kitchen. Beautiful views.
Garth Cottage sleeps 4 - 5* rated, popular for its double aspect outlook, Garth enjoys panoramic views across the Lake District, Solway Firth and to the Scottish hills.
Facilities
All guests can enjoy complimentary use of a local leisure club for the duration of their stay. This includes swimming pool, gym, sauna, jacuzzi etc. All cottages have wood burning stoves (logs provided free of charge) Wi-Fi Internet is available Dogs are made welcome in Gill cottage, £15 per stay (max 2) Gill's own enclosed garden includes BBQ and garden furniture. Breathtaking views over reservoir to Solway Firth, Lakeland and Scottish hills.
Activities
Amblers and keen hikers alike will enjoy the many trails and footpaths through neighbouring fields and fells. Mountain bikers too will find a range of tracks right outside the front door. For those wishing to explore further, the historic city of Carlisle lies just 10 miles away with the Lake District, Hadrian’s Wall, and the Scottish Borders within half an hours drive. Whether you’re looking to explore the sites and attractions of the Eden Valley or just want a quiet get-away Tottergill Farm suits all.

A full list of prices is available on our website, or email us. A non-refundable deposit of 25% is payable upon booking. The balance of the total holiday cost is payable six weeks prior to the start of your holiday. Bookings within six weeks of arrival require full prepayment. Payments may be made by cheque of credit card. If the client does not pay the balance fee at the prescribed time, we reserve the right to cancel the booking. In this event the deposit will be forfeited. If the client cancels after the booking is confirmed (notification of which must be given in writing) the full amount of the rent is payable, unless the property can be re-let. We therefore strongly recommend holiday insurance. If we are able to re-let your accommodation (and we shall make every effort to do so) all monies paid will be refunded less the deposit. Wow!! First visit but hopefully not the last. A wonderful weekend that totally recharged our batteries - stunning cottage and views to die for. Thank you so much for the warm welcome we recieved and hope to return very soon.

We have had a wonderful Christmas here. A lovely warm welcome from Stephen and Joyce (in fact from all the Wightman family). Everything has been provided to make our stay a memorable one. Lovely to have the snow and the sledges to use on it. A really perfect winter wonderland.

The perfect base for an unforgettable holiday experience
With peaceful surroundings and incredible views we often forget just how fortunate we are to live in such a beauty spot! Our guests often comment how a website can never do the place justice and we agree. With incredible sunsets and birds and wildlife in abundance, you'll grow to love the place as much as we do. There are some great walks right from the door step, even our two village pubs are just a pleasant stroll away. One is a contemporary michelin reccommended pub/resturant and is a personal favourite of ours. The other is a great plce for a quick drink of an informal meal, and is ideal for families. You'll never run out of places to discover either, there's lots to see and do in the area. We love Lanercost Priory's tearooms and gift shop, Carlisle Castle is well worth a visit, Walby Farm Park and Eden Ostrich World are perfect days out for families, and a walk along Hadrian's wall is allways facinating. You may just want to relax and stay put, curl up by the cosy log burning stove in each cottage, or sit and take in the view from your own enclosed garden. Whatever you have in mind, we will be here to welcome you and help to make your stay a holiday you won't want to forget!
