The peaceful hillside setting above Stock Ghyll faces due south with a glorious view to Wansfell Pike. An ideal base for touring, walking or climbing, you can just relax or enjoy spectacular hikes from the door – no need to take the car! Ambleside is a few minutes walk down the hill. Here you will find museums, shops, restaurants, cinema, Lake Windermere…etc

Much loved by its owner, Birch Cottage provides a real 'home from home' - an ideal place to relax after a long day out. Laid out on three storeys, it is comfortably furnished, tastefully decorated & well-equipped. Cosy even in winter, it has full gas central heating. Beds are pine with firm mattresses & duvets. Electricity and gas are included.. linen and towels with beds made up available at extra cost.
