Swallows Nest was built in the early 1990s behind the original listed Armstrong cottages. These quaint green timber clad houses were built at the turn of the century as temporary homes for European workers at Bamburgh Castle. Swallows Nest was designed to strict planning requirements to insure that the new cottages were in keeping with style and personality of the original cottages. The result is that Swallows Nest has much of the charm of a ‘beach house’ with its timber clad facade, but benefits from spacious internal planning new internal fittings to a very high standard and a lovely light interior. With three spacious bedrooms it offers accommodation for six however one bedroom comes with 4 single beds so for family groups in can sleep eight comfortably. There is a spacious open plan sitting room with open fire prefect for relaxing with family and friends. The Dining room offers plenty of space for family get-togethers’ and can sit eight comfortably. The fully enclosed garden has a generous timber deck, sunny in the summer and ideal for eating alfresco. There are two bathrooms one closely located to the downstairs bedroom, which makes it ideal for any guests who have reduced mobility. Outside there is parking on private drive for up to three cars and the Armstrong cottages square has a peaceful fresh open feel with views of the surrounding countryside, dunes and Bamburgh Castle. The big sky’s and starry nights are very special

    Thankyou for sharing your fantastic house with us this last week. We all had a fab time and came home utterly shattered. The house was everything we hoped for and more, it was so well equipped and everything was thought of. We hardly saw the children as they loved playing upstairs in their room, and whenever we went out for the day, "can we go back to the cottage?" was always the first question. We would definately recommend swallows nest to anyone, but especially those with children. We would love to book again sometime.

    Gorgeous beach house just minutes from beautiful Bamburgh beach. Our children loved the big bedroom and we loved the peace and quiet. Would recommend to anyone wanting to explore the delights of Northumberland.
