Vacation Rental Description
Mariners Cottage is a charming detached Scandinavian-style cottage on the outskirts of the seaport of Amble, a few minutes stroll from the harbour.
Mariners Cottage is part of a small development of buildings of a similar style, but has an unusual and attractive 'upside down' style interior. The main living area is on the first floor and most bedrooms are located on the ground floor. The accommodation includes a large sitting room with generous patio doors leading to a balcony, four bedrooms, and two modern bathrooms. There is a little secluded garden to the rear of Mariners Cottage which makes a lovely place for al fresco dining, and a lawned area to the front. This cottage is a heavenly retreat in a great holiday destination.

Explore Northumberland from the base of the little seaport of Amble, located at the mouth of the River Coquet. Amble used to be a centre for boatbuilding, and now offers a harbour, new marina, sandy beaches and scenic coastal walks which take you to the country park at Druridge Bay and the bird sanctuary at Hauxley. Venture a mile south and you’ll find Coquet Island, an RSPB reserve with terns, puffins and eider ducks - boat trips around the island are available too. Many superb beaches; the picturesque coastal villages of Alnmouth and Craster; Warkworth and delightful Alnwick and their castles, and the National Trust's Wallington Hall and Cragside are all within easy reach of this idyllic location.
