The peaceful and pretty harbour village of Port Perry is located next to Beadnell Bay, one of the most attractive stretches of Northumberland's Heritage Coastline. Beadnell was established in Saxon times and was once a ‘smugglers haven’ and a major fishing village. Fishermen still launch from the harbor to land daily catches, but now holidaymakers also flock to the village to enjoy the picturesque harbor, the sandy beaches located nearby, and the two pubs which serve food. Seahouses is just over a mile away with its shops, supermarket, and restaurants, and this popular town also offers boat trips from the harbour to the stunning bird watching centre of the Farne Islands. Bamburgh and the market town of Alnwick, which offers a magnificent castle and gardens, pubs, restaurants and shops, are both within easy driving distance.
