Situated in the foothills of the Cheviots and surrounded by glorious countryside, The pretty Northumberland village of Powburn is an excellent holiday location. With a shop and pub within the village itself and a wide range of further shopping and eating opportunities in the nearby town of Alnwick, Powburn is well served. Alnwick is also home to the incredible Alnwick Castle, the film location for Hogwarts School in the Harry Potter movies, as well as the Castle Gardens. Within easy driving distance is the spectacular Heritage Coast of Northumberland, offering sandy beaches and great wildlife habitat. Another point of interest is the house and gardens at Cragside – currently owned by the National Trust. With so much to see and do close by, Powburn makes an excellent base from which to explore this wonderful region.
