Situated in the beautiful Lincolnshire Wolds, The Station Master's House in Ludborough near Louth is a hidden gem offering high quality self-catering accommodation. A most unusual property rarely available!! The unique layout with additions and extensions over the years make it deceptively spacious. It sleeps up to 8 in comfort and possibly 10 with a little imagination.
With an open fire, central heating, two bathrooms, two lounges and all modern conveniences - the lack of ‘home’ comforts is not an issue.
Situated by the Lincolnshire Wolds Steam Railway, set aside the obvious Rail enthusiasts’ attractions and consider even more...
Located in one of England's Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the countryside is ideal for cycling, fishing, walking, birdwatching, long golf weekend vacations or simply relaxing in a most attractive and peaceful area.
Winter visitors can see seal pups on local beaches and watch birds at Gibraltar Point.
Nature lovers will enjoy The Wolds countryside and the many Wildlife Trust nature reserves.
Neighbouring Cleethorpes, Mablethorpe and Skegness are all renowned as traditional seaside resorts.
Nearby Lincoln attracts many with its magnificent Castle and Cathedral.
Historic village churches and local market towns Horncastle, Spilsby and Alford, with their many antique and teashops, make car or cycle tours an absolute pleasure. Louth, our nearest town, is the quaint Capital Market Town of Lincolnshire and well worth a visit.
There are numerous excellent golf courses at Laceby, Kenwick Park, Louth, Woodhall Spa, Woodthorpe Hall, North Shore, Sandilands and Cleethorpes. Convenient for Cadwell Park weekend motor racing, classic car, or motor cycling enthusiasts.

Choose one of the numerous walks and cycle routes to suit your pleasure, whether that be vales and views or churches and canals. There's plenty to whet your appetite!
The Station Master's House is part of The Old Station Yard where we also have our three delightful Reproduction Railway Carriages available. The full arena can accommodate groups of 20-22 - perfect for family gatherings or friendly get-togethers. With a barbecue hut with a Buschbecke BBQ and ample seating, as well as a bouncy castle to hire for the children, there is plenty of opportunity for the group to convene.
Facilities
The Station Master's House is on two floors. The first floor comprising of a master bedroom and 2 twin rooms, all tastefully decorated with plenty of storage space, and a bathroom with both a tub and a power shower. The ground floor has a pretty twin room and a bathroom with power shower. There are also the 2 lounges - one with a real log fire, the other with a dining area and patio doors leading onto your own enclosed patio and garden. Lots of comfortable seating, ambient lighting, pictures around the walls and a selection of books and films give this unique property a wonderful home-from-home feeling. The kitchen has all the pots, pans and utensils you could wish for to fully enjoy your self-catering vacation.
Activities
Nestled in a quiet leafy corner of Lincolnshire, it's easy to forget (should you wish to!) the wealth of opportunities waiting to be explored in every direction.
Just minutes away in one direction you have the unique shopping and dining experience in the quaint market town of Louth, whilst the same distance away in the other direction you have the bustling seaside resort and theme park at Cleethorpes.
Being right on the edge of the beautiful Lincolnshire Wolds, cycling can be as flat and easy or as hilly and demanding as you wish. Either way, the views are spectacular! And there are pubs only a mile away if you don't fancy cycling too far... With cycles available to hire on site, you don't even have to bring your own!
There are so many golf courses and fishing ponds around the area - the difficulty lies only in deciding which one to try!

Myself and 10 friends recently stayed at this property and the adjacent carriages. It is a unique property and the surroundings are perfect for a quiet break away.
The whole process from booking to leaving was so smooth and Janine was on hand to answer any questions we had, both before we arrived and during our stay.
The accommodation was extremely clean and tidy and was fully equip with everything we needed for our stay. Janine had even filled the bucket with logs for the fire. This was such a relief as the weather was awful when we arrived so the log fire came in very handy.
If there are only a few of you staying i would highly recommend the railway carriages. These have been decorated to an exceptional standard and are very spacious.
The only thing i wish we had done was to arrange to have a food delivery arrive at the house. The nearest supermarket is a good 15minute drive away and its difficult to drag yourself out back into the cold once you have settled by the fire.
I would highly recommend this property to any of my friends and family. We are all looking forward to going back soon.
