Vacation Rental Description
Bay Tree House is an attractive, semi detached house with lovely views of the surrounding countryside and the Derwent River Valley. The house nestles on a hillside near to the Spa town of Matlock Bath, 1 mile from Matlock. Sympathetically refurbished to provide warm and cosy accommodation, Bay Tree House features a four poster bed, a spacious farmhouse-style kitchen with woodburning stove and range cooker, a delightful sitting room with open fire and a small front garden, ideal for enjoying views across the valley and towards the famous Masson Mill, which today provides visitors with factory shops and tearooms. This is an excellent location for unwinding, yet a short riverside stroll leads to the bustling centre of Matlock Bath with its old pubs, excellent restaurants, curiosity shops and historic architecture. Spend a fun-filled day at Gulliver's Kingdom, explore majestic Chatsworth House, or enjoy a peaceful afternoon at Carsington Reservoir. A superb holiday home, any time of year.
Facilities
Sleeps 2 to 5 (+ baby in cot) in two bedrooms: 1 x four poster 4'6", 1 x 4' with 3' single bunk above. Bathroom & downstairs Cloakroom. Farmhouse-style fitted kitchen with dining area, range cooker and woodburning stove. Comfortable lounge with open fire (fireguards provided). We very much welcome 1 well behaved dog - this is a great 'walkies' area and lots of the pubs allow dogs. Full gas central heating. Range cooker, microwave, fridge, freezer, washing machine, dishwasher, flat-screen TV/DVD, CD radio with i-pod dock, radio/CD player, games, books, dvd's. Gas, electricity & starter pack for woodburner & open fire,bed linen & towels inc. in rent. Cot, highchair and stairgate on request. Off road parking for 2 cars. Small secure, fenced front and side garden with garden furniture & BBQ. The house is in an elevated position which is why it has such wonderful views but because of this it is accessed via ten stone steps.
Activities
Matlock Bath is located in the beautiful wooded gorge of the River Derwent, surrounded by hills and cliffs. It developed as a Spa town in the 1800s and is also famous for its connections with Sir Richard Arkwright and the cotton trade, often being referred to as the cradle of the Industrial Revolution. Today Matlock Bath offers a selection of pubs and shops, Arkwright's Cromford Mill, a world heritage site, and Venetian Nights during Sept and Oct, which feature decorated and illuminated boats floating along the river at weekends & firework displays. The area boasts a plethora of attractions such as Gulliver's Kingdom, the Peak District Mining Museum and splendid Chatsworth House. Enjoy a ride on the Heights of Abraham cable car, take advantage of good walking or cycling around the Derwent Valley, White Peak and the High Peak Cycle Trail and watersports activities at Carsington Water.

25% Deposit required on booking the balance due 6 weeks prior to your stay. We accept PayPal or cheques. To pay by credit card you can use PayPal (no Paypala/c required). When you reserve your week we will send to your email address a PayPal request for payment. If you do not have a PayPal account the PayPal link will request your credit card details. Cancellation. Once you have booked your holiday our agreement is a legal contract and your deposit is non-refundable. If for whatever reason you cannot take your holiday and the booking cannot be re-let, you are still liable to pay for the booking in full, even if we have not yet received your balance. If we do succeed in re-letting the booking, you are no longer liable for the balance, or we will refund it to you if you have already paid it. Please note your deposit is not refundable. We strongly recommend you take out cancellation insurance which can be obtained from any good broker.
