Our family has been holidaying at 'Westdene' for three generations and it just gets better every year! Whatever time you choose to visit this unique part of Suffolk, there is a never ending list of things to do.  
For families there's our huge garden and all the attractions of Thorpeness are within walking distance; the Meare, where you can hire boats and explore the many islands, the Windmill, House in the Clouds, tennis courts at the Country Club and of course the beach.  
The Golf Club with its challenging 18-hole links course is nearby as is the Dolphin Pub which has a garden and offers great food.  
Two miles away is beautiful Aldeburgh, packed with excellent restaurants, shops and the best fish and chips in Suffolk!  
Westdene is situated up an unmade, private roadway. It has light and spacious accommodation for 8 people with all mod-cons:  
 
Ground floor: living/dining room with open fire, kitchen, utility room, fitted kitchen, twin bedroom, double bedroom, wc, bathroom with bath, wc and shower.  
First floor: Twin bedroom, double bedroom, new bathroom with shower and wc.  
Outside: Enclosed, south-facing garden with patio area and BBQ. There is ample parking at the front of the house.

    • There is so much to do in the pretty, magical village of Thorpeness, but it is also very easy to do nothing in such beautiful surroundings! There is tennis, golf, boating on the Meare with it's magical islands, named after the characters in Peter Pan! Walks along the glorious beach, especially to nearby Aldeburgh with its great shopping for all - boutiques for the ladies, the most perfect sweet shop for the kids and some lovely pubs and high class restaurants. Bird-watching is also a major attraction to this area, as well as the concerts held at the famous Snape Maltings. For the rainy days there is a great local swimming pool around two miles away and a choice of two cinemas both within two miles. Within an hour is the famous city of Norwich with many historical attractions and more shopping opportunities. Thorpeness is a one-off, and noone can really describe the wonderful time they experience in this special place - enjoy!

    • Travel Info: M25 to the A12, then follow the A12 until you meet the A road to Aldeburgh, follow this until you see signs for Thorpeness, and then on arrival in the village, it is the first left after the Dolphin Pub.
