Elder Cottage is a very special detached self-catering Cotswolds holiday cottage for two. Great attention has been paid to detail and the cottage provides you with everything you will need during your holiday. Every effort is made to ensure that you have a wonderful stay, and many of our guests come back time and again.
The cottage is situated in the conservation area in the centre of the pretty Cotswold village of Mickleton.
The cottage enjoys the benefit of a pretty, private garden, and is only a few minutes walk from The King's Arms pub and the Three Ways Hotel (excellent food and the Pudding Club), a Post Office and the very well stocked village shop.
Location
At the northern end of the Cotswolds, Mickleton, home of the world-famous PUDDING CLUB, is a pretty village on the B4632, just 3 miles north of Chipping Campden, 8 miles south west of Stratford-upon-Avon (birthplace of William Shakespeare and home of the Royal Shakespeare Theatre) and 8 miles north east of Broadway. With beautiful countryside on the doorstep, Elder Cottage is an ideal base for a Cotswolds walking holiday, touring the Cotswolds, or just relaxing. The Heart of England Way passes through the village, and the Cotswold Way begins and ends in nearby Chipping Campden.
Nearby attractions include Kiftsgate Gardens (1 mile), Bourton-on-the-Water (12 miles), Stow-on-the-Wold (12 miles), Warwick Castle (16 miles) and Blenheim Palace (35 miles). There are notable National Trust properties at Hidcote (1 mile), the Fleece Inn at Bretforton (5 miles) and Snowshill Manor (10 miles). Mickleton is ideally situated for trips into the Cotswolds to the south or the 'Heart of England' to the north and east. Worcester, Warwick, Cheltenham, Oxford and The Malverns are all within an easy drive of an hour or less.
Mickleton offers two pubs, a restaurant, Post Office and stores, village shop, traditional butcher, garage and farm shops. The nearest small town is Chipping Campden with its fine High Street, beautiful church and many ancient and interesting buildings.
Due to steps and stairs, Elder Cottage is not accessible for wheelchair users, and is unsuitable for babies, young children and people with mobility problems.
