A minibus service passes the complex gates every 15 minutes and within 10 minutes you are in the thriving tourist centre of Bodrum. Although boasting all modern resort facilities Bodrum has retained its old historical and Ottoman charm, dominated as it is by the Knights Templar Castle of St Peter. There is a fascinating bazaar area of narrow streets with shops selling all kinds of handicrafts as well as local sweets and spices and reataurants by the waterside serving fresh fish as well as the world-remowned Turkish cuisine. The large modern marina is home to the locally built beautiful wooden boats called gulets.

The whole of the pinefringed Aegean coastline offers a wealth of history covering 3000 years. Bodrum itself was the home of one of the 7 Wonders of the World, the Mausoleum and local agencies offer trips of amazing value to the ruins of Ephesus, the rock tombs and mudbaths of Dalyan or the crystalline azure pools of Pammukkale ('Cotton Castle') and its adjacent Greek city.

If that weren't enough there are boat trips, scuba diving and fishing on offer, after which you could unwind in the local hamam or Turkish bath. But then, there is always the pool and the beach......
