Vacation Rental Description
Charming Göcek – a place of tranquil beauty on Turkey’s Aegean coast, an area steeped in ancient myth and history. Sheltered by the Taurus Mountains, Göcek village and the bay beyond opens out to the Mediterranean Sea - the setting is simply breathtaking. Chic,sophisticated but never stuffy, Göcek is a wonderful base for those who seek total relaxation. Its many cafes and restaurants offer traditional Turkish and modern European cuisine, all prepared from local organic produce, its natural food just like it used to be. Göcek is not a large resort; the tree lined harbour and sea front areas can be walked end to end in just 15 minutes, but its difficult to pass so many interesting cafes and resturants without stopping for a refreshing drink or glass of wine. Göcek's compact size means one is quickly accepted by local people as an honoured guest to be welcomed with the very best they have to offer.
Villa Melissa is available for short or longer holiday lets, perfect for couples and families seeking a special place to enjoy a luxurious self catering holiday. Offering all the conveniences of a beautiful family home close to the village centre; there are no busy roads to cross to reach the harbour area. V. Melissa sleeps up to 6 adults in complete comfort, an additional guest may be accommodated on a sofabed in one of the two larger bedrooms, maximum number of guests allowed is 7, cot also available for baby.
Tastefully furnished in an elegant mix of antique and modern Mediterranean styles, Villa Melissa has 3 ensuite bedrooms all with aircon and private balcony; there is also a downstairs WC with washbasin.
Modern well set out kitchen with marble worktops, fridge-freezer, washing machine, dish washer, oven with hob and extractor fan. Kitchen offers fine assortment of dishes, glasses, pots and pans, electric kettle, French Coffee Presse Carafe, etc. Bar has plastic glasses for use around the pool areas.
Spend the days as you wish; read in the shade of the pines, develop a tan, swim laps for exercise in the huge pool or just to cool down. Enjoy pre-dinner drinks at the private bar then an evening BBQ or walk into the village for dinner at a harbour café; from simple kebabs to fresh fish and lobster, the choice is endless.
Colour brochure and more photographs will be sent on request. The owners may be discreetly in residence in adjoining Villa Papatya May-June and September-November. NB. Calender shows Villa Melissa availability only. Owners may rent both villas to larger families (up to 12 guests) in July and August, 15% discount on weekly price for double villa bookings. Please contact the owners for availability and prices.

Activities
If the need to explore takes over from relaxing why not earn to scuba dive with qualified staff, learn to water ski and sail with qualified instructors, try horse riding in Yaniklar, visit Dalyan’s Turtle beach, hike the mysterious Saklikent Gorge, or try paragliding above Olu Denis bay.
Take Göcek’s legendary 12 islands cruise on a Gulet or private boat. Book a day trip to the Greek Island of Rhodes, reached by ferry from Fethiye. Why not hire a car for a few days to visit the many amazing historical sites? Enjoy a family picnic in the glorious mountain scenery or on a deserted beach, there are activities for everyone.
Göcek has banks, ATMs, a post office, supermarkets, a butcher, a fish shop, boat charters, water taxi to Göcek Island and minibus service to larger towns. Villa Melissa is 25 minutes’ drive from Dalaman Airport and 45 minutes from Sarigerme (Golf Resort opens Sept.2011), Dalyan, Fethiye, Kaya Valley & OluDeniz.

- Travel Info: The nearest airport is Dalaman International. Many budget airline carriers fly from UK main and regional airports and many European cities. It is a short 25 minute taxi journey from Dalaman International Airport to Gocek.

35% deposit on booking, balance due 8 weeks before booking start date. Payment by bank transfer or personal cheque Sterling(UK pounds). Mandatory charges per booking; refunable £150 security deposit to cover breakages and small damages(normally refunded 5-7 days after your holiday), £35 departure cleaning service. Families with children welcome. Preferred arrival day is Friday, Saturday or Monday. We will accommodate your booking outside of these days if we can. Your villa will be ready for your arrival and beds will be made-up. A grocery and refreshments pack will be provided. All linens provided. Ample bath / hand towels suppled, bed linen and towel change every 7 days, pool towel supplied for each guest. Villa Melissa is located in a quiet residential area and guests are kindly requested to bring personal stereo/ipod for use at the poolside to preserve the tranquil atmosphere.

Thank you for our superb holiday in your fantastic Villa Melissa last month. The setting was just perfect and we could not have been more comfortable or well catered for. The pool was an added bonus and the children loved every moment. The novelty of the log fire was of great delight . We definately had the rest we needed and the restaurants with excellent local cuisine were very enjoyable.
Thank you for making our vacations such a pleasurable one.

It has been hard to get back into the daily routine again, after the 14 marvelous days we had at Villa Melissa.

Why Gocek? It is a little piece of paradise on earth- that's why!
My husband is a consultant engineer(almost retired) and I am a retired university administrator. We sailed into this lovely area in 1999 and loved the village and the marinas so much we decided to stay.
We try to spend the cooler months of spring and autumn in Gocek. During the high season months and over winter we live in our home in Scotland, returning to Gocek each April.
We would be pleased to answer any questions you may have about Gocek and the surrounding areas.
We are very privileged to live in this area of exceptional natural beauty, and find the Turkish people very friendly and welcoming.
