Vacation Rental Description
The villa is situated in a rural location near the foot of a mountain range. Villa Meliha is surrounded by cotton fields and lemon and orange and pomegranate groves. Our nearest neighbours are a farm, and 2 other Oruc villas which are both a whole field away from us. We are short distance from the Itzuzu beach road. It is a 20 minute walk into the village or a 5 minute cycle.
The villa has 4 double bedrooms downstairs, (2 with twins, 2 with double beds)each with en-suite shower-room (the main bedroom has a Jacuzzi) and dressing room. Each room has doors opening out onto it’s own large patio. There is a large (100m2) open plan living room/dining/kitchen upstairs with 2 balconies to the front and a large balcony with panoramic views at the back. The exterior of the building is partially clad in the local stonework and has attractive wrought iron work on the balconies. There is a fire-place for burning logs in the winter and each room has an air conditioner which is also a heater. The kitchen is fully fitted (dish-washer, w.machine ceramic hob and microwave, fridge-freezer and electric oven). The villa is of a modern colonial design with plenty of space and light. The floors are of the local marble (travertine) and all the wood-work and much of the furniture is hand made by local craftsmen.
There are sofa beds upstairs for extra children and the living area can be curtained off from the kitchen/dining area. Below stairs the villa will comfortably accommodate 8 people. Bedding and towels are supplied.
The spacious (1300m2) gardens have a 10 metre swimming pool with a paddling area and a Turkish style wooden garden house (for those lazy siestas in the cooling shade). Bicycles are available for your outings to the village and there are little shops nearby for basic needs. If you have not arrived by hire car the local taxis are very good and it is only a few minutes to the local supermarkets and the village itself.

Dalyan is famous for it's large meandering river and river taxis to Iztuzu beach, home of Caretta Turtles, kingfishers, storks and rare birds. At the Golbasi restaurant you can dine by the water and feed the turtles! The Ley ley (Stork) restaurant nr Orteca is where storks nest, you dine alongside waterfalls. Spot storks, owls, herons, eagles, kingfishers, tortoises, turtles,(Nile&Caretta),reptiles, rare birds. River cruise to Itzuzu beach along the Dalyan river; tall reed beds along the estuary. The film 'African Queen' was filmed here. The eco beach is a 5km and loggerhead turtles come ashore to lay their eggs. A boat trip to the Sultaniye mud baths is fun, & hot sulphur bath. Also lovely boat trip across Lake Koycegiz.Over the river (by rowing boat) - ancient city of Kauno(amphitheatre, acropolis, baths, basilica and Byzantine fortifications with superb views. Recommend 1 day 12 island cruise gulet sailing) boat from Fethiye bay.
