Location
Our Chalet is located in Hasliberg in the village of Goldern in the heart of the Bernese Oberland in Central Switzerland . The scenery is spectacular with breathtaking views. In the valley below us are the towns of Meiringen, Brienz and Interlaken.

The area is typically Swiss where both traditional farming and tourism co-exist to provide a wonderfully natural environment of streams, forests, meadows and mountains. This area of Switzerland speaks ‘Swiss’ German, however many people speak some English and many tourist brochures are translated into English.

In the winter there are some 70 miles of groomed pistes in the mountains above the chalet and in the summer there are hundreds of miles of maintained pathways to explore. There are also several crystal clear lakes within the area that are beautiful to visit in the hot summer months, including Lungern and Brienz, as well as a conventional open air swimming pool in Meiringen.

The Chalet
Our chalet is located in a quiet position with 3 restaurants/bars and one shop within a 15-20 minute walk, but there are no discos or other noisy intrusions into this wonderful area of peace, calm and beauty.

The area around the chalet is laid to garden with a field in front and a lovely mountain stream running through it. Vehicular access to the chalet is possible when there is no snow and there is a ‘private’ parking place just below the chalet. When there is snow, there is a private garage at a lower level, where we also have a machine to transport luggage up to the chalet which is a about 5 minutes walk up the hill.

On the main living level, there are 2 bedrooms which sleep 4. The living room has a wood burner, sofas, TV/DVD and a large dining table with panoramic views of the mountains from the windows. There is a large balcony accessed by double doors from this room.
It has a well equipped kitchen with dishwasher. The bathroom is newly fitted with a corner ‘shower bath‘.
Upstairs has a separate access, where there is a double bedroom and a further area with 2 single beds and a ’lounge’ area with a sofa and TV and breakfast making facilities. Upstairs has it’s own toilet, washbasin and shower.

There is a large patio in front of the chalet with a static barbecue and once again breathtaking views of the mountains and valley. There is a cellar at this level where we store garden furniture etc and there is a washing machine, tumble dryer and freezer.

There is a south facing balcony and BBQ. The chalet is on two levels with a bathroom on each floor, so two groups can be independent when required. Lovely garden and mountain stream.

30% deposit is required on making a booking for the chalet. The balance is payable 4 weeks prior to the holiday. Payment can be made in sterling, euros or swiss francs. Paypal is possible but costs will be shared. It is recommended that guests arrange for their own cancellation insurance as refunds will only be made if the holiday period has been successfully re-booked. Prices are dependent on occupancy and time of year, there is a 70 CHF charge for final cleaing and the local tourist tax is payable by guests in the tourist information office in Twing
