Vacation Rental Description
Chalet Alpstein has a number of apartments and studios, which can sleep either 8, 4, or two people, up to a max of 22 people. The Chalet is superbly located, close to the centre of Grindelwald, it is only a three minutes walk to the train station, which provides the main transport to the mountains, for skiing and walking. The high street is also close (approx 2 minutes walk) all the shops and restaurants are therefore easily accessible . The sport centre with heated swimming pool, ice skating ring and wellness centre is literally just next door. Despite its central location the chalet is in a quiet location. All the apartments have a wonderful uninterrupted view of the Eiger. There is Wifi internet access available, and also satellite television' with access to English television channels. Apartment Alpenrose is a very large apartment with 4 bedrooms, for a maximum of 8 people. It has three double bedrooms each with comfortable twin beds, the master bedroom has an en suite bathroom. The two other, double rooms, have their own showers and basins. The fourth bedroom is small and has bunk beds, best for children. The apartment has its own private, sunny, south facing terrace, looking directly at the Eiger. It also has a large dining /living area with an open fireplace, leading out to the terrace.
Apartment Chamois is traditionally decorated, with wood panelling, it has two bedrooms, 1 with a double bed and the other with twin bed. There is a separate Kitchen and living room with a south facing balcony leading off the living room.
Apartment Edelweiss also has 2 bedrooms each of which have twin beds. There is an modern open plan kitchen, dining and living area. apartment edelweiss also has its own balcony and view of the Eiger.
The three studios are each fully equipped for two people. They have their own kitchenettes, W.c's and showers and have twin beds. They have each been individually decorated. Studio Eiger and Jungfrau each have a balcony with a view of the Eiger and there is a sofa bed in Jungfrau.
Facilities
Grindelwald is a tradition Swiss Ski resort, with a fantastic skiing area, encompassing Kleine Schiedegg, Wengen, Männlichen, Murren and First. The hiking in summer is wonderful and the village itself is easily accessible either by train or car. Do please contact us for more details .

Both Zurich and Basel are approx. 2.5 hours drive and Geneve is approx. 3.5 The very efficient Swiss train system also enables you to get to Grindelwald in the same time straight from the airport with only 2 changes which are normally minutes apart.

IMPORTANT PLEASE NOTE THE PRICE QOUTED IS PER week depending on size of accommodation. During high season the minimum stay is on week and letting is Sat -Sat only. Off season there is a minimum stay of 5 nights in Alpenrose and 3 nights in all other accommodation. We ask for 20% deposit on booking and the balance is due one month before arrival. The money is payable by bank transfer, no cards accepted. The rent remains payable once the accommodation is booked, unless it can be re let. Holiday insurance is available via the contract we send (through the local tourist office). All prices are exclusive of the local tourist tax which is CHF3.60 per person /per night. A cash security deposit of CHF300 for apartments and CHF150 for studios is also required.

Owners Profile
We are an English couple who live in Grindelwald. We moved here in 2005 when we brought Chalet Alpstein to run as a self catering holiday business. We have two boys who both love skiing and both Alex and I ski when ever time permits. In the summer we love taking out husky on long mountain walks in this truly beautiful landscape and both Alex and my older son paraglide when ever the weather permits.
