Modern winterised cottages located in a tranquil secluded village, with a beautiful child friendly beach, offering wood-heated outside sauna and hot-tub “bathing barrel” right by the water’s edge (available for hire). The cottages can sleep 2-26 and are ideal for couples, families or groups; whether you wish a peaceful, relaxing holiday or one packed full of activity/adventures – the list is endless. 
 
They have everything you might expect offering open plan kitchen and dining room combination with a stove/oven, refrigerator/freezer, dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, dining table, etc. Living room consist of cable TV, DVD, cornersofa and sofa table with a wonderful traditional log fire in one of the cottages. Bathroom is modern with all the facilities required including a washing machine in one of the cottages. A wonderful barbeque hut with real reindeer skins is available in the smaller of the cottages.  
 
South facing sun areas that look onto a orchard, meadow and village green. Ideal for barbeque, sunbathing, dining al fresco, or simply sipping a glass of wine and enjoying the tranquil surroundings.  
 
If required a cot and highchair can be arranged upon request. There is a collection of English toys, games and books for both children and adults that you can borrow more from our library.  
 
Internet access via mobile broadband can be rented.  
 
All around are pine forests and hills, rivers and lakes. Perfect for walking, riding, biking, swimming, rafting, canoeing/boating in summer, cross-country and downhill skiing in winter. Depending on the season, you can go wild berry or mushroom picking. Elks are a common site on the village road and deer are frequently seen around the cottage.  
 
Outside, there is ample space to play. The large meadow is great for the odd game of football or superb playing area for kids whilst the adults watch.  
 
The beach is a short walk away, and perfect for a refreshing swim during summer. The bottom of the lake is sandy and slopes gently, offering a safe place for young children to play in the water. The Village Association maintains the beach to ensure it remains a child-friendly bathing area with a sandy beach, jetty, changing room and barbeque grill. Experience the natural beauty of Kolforsen; barbecue, fish, swim, sunbathe or just watch the kids play in the sand. 
 
Many local residents own boats, rafts, canoes etc on the lake and you will never be short of advice on where or when to fish or an invitation to join them out on the water. 
 
There is also a sauna and hot tub available on the beach. The sauna is a great place for warming up frozen fingers and toes in winter. It is a place for relaxation, tranquility and deep thought. The ‘hot tub’, can be used every season. When it is freezing in the winter or on a delicious summer evening: it is always enjoyable! Enjoy with family or friends the hot tub: feel the warm water for your body; listen to the sound of the crackling wood in the stove; inhale air of free nature; talk with each other in the light of the moon or by romantic candlelight... 
 
Bikes, a boat and a canoe are available for guest use. There is excellent fishing including pike, perch, etc. 
 
In the winter exciting adventures such as dog sledging, snow mobile rides, ski-ing (both cross-country and downhill), sledging or more relaxing alternatives such as ice fishing are available. 
 
If things are getting too quiet it is not far to big cities, such as Gavle and Sandviken, and also only 2 hours away from Stockholm. 
 
There is also a possibility to rent other accommodation through us, which means that we very rarely are fully booked.  
 
Price per week is 2,700-4,500 SEK depending on chosen accommodation and time of year with flexible arrival dates. Can also be rented 1-6 nights and several weeks/months in a row.

Ockelbo is ideally placed as a base for trips to Gävle, Sandviken, Stockholm, etc. 
 
There are several interesting places to visit around Ockelbo. Day trips by car, foot or bicycle. In winter you can explore the many snowmobile trails perhaps for an ice fishing adventure. 
 
Within 10-50 mins drive you can reach:

• Travel Info: Distance from airport to cottage is 2-4 hours depending on where you fly into. Stockholm Arlanda is nearest. To get a good map of the car journey to Kolforsen 39 please go into www.eniro.se . Select "Vägbeskrivning" and in START type wherever you arrive in Sweden first and in MÅL "Kolforsen 39, Ockelbo". Then select "Visa vägen" which will give you a map, that you can zoom in and get directions. Trains go regularly to Ockelbo from all over Sweden. We can pick you up on arrival and drop you off on departure.

				High Season Price:	£360 per Week

20% of rental fee due as non-returnable deposit to secure your booking. We will ask for a 500 SEK cleaning and breakage before arrival, which will be refunded on departure following an inspection and approval of the cleaning and no breakages. Of course, you may opt not to clean and we will then keep the 500 SEK. Payment is normally done via bank transfer in Swedish kronor or via PayPal. An e-mail receipt and booking confirmation will be sent as soon as possible after funds arrive in our bank. 10% discount for stays of 14 nights.
