If you are looking for a holiday which includes other British tourists, fast food and all night nightlife, don't bother to read on, this is not the place for you!
The touristic term 'Costa Azahar', otherwise known as 'the Orange Blossom Coast', takes in the whole province of Castellon which is the most northern of the provinces making up the ancient 'Kingdom of Valencia'. One hundred and twenty kilometres in length, it is endowed with fine, warm beaches and rocky coves, all bathed by the calm waters of the Mediterranean Sea. Inland is complemented by the lush and fertile orange, lemon and lime groves and from the coast to high in the mountains, the farming of olive trees flourish abundently. El Nido is located in the National Park area known as 'Prat de Cabanes', one of only 15 protected nature reserve in Spain. This is a flat, coastal area, a major wetland and considered highly valuable owing to its unique plant, bird and animal population. The property is 4kms from the unspoiled small town of Torreblanca which has a range of restarants & bars serving 'tapas', 'menu del dia' or 'a la carte', all genuine Spanish cuisine. Banks, shops, a medical centre and a weekly street market caters for all needs. An equal distance from the finca is the blue flag, sandy beach of Torrenostra, just one of the many beautiful beaches in this area. A small, mainly Spanish beach, Torrenostra has two supermarkets and a variety of bars and beach restaurants, several play areas for children and recently, for the energetic, some free exercise equipment on the beach itself! In addition to the attractive coastline, the area has much more than just sea and sand. This peaceful haven has much to offer in the way of walking, fishing, horse riding, cycling and watching the ever changing birdlife. The Costa del Azahar boasts 300days of sunshine a year, making El Nido an all the year round retreat for those seeking tranquility For a change of scene, the adjoining town of Alcossebre, some 15 minutes away by car, offers a modern marina with water sports and leisure facilities, more beaches, many restaurants and shopping. A championship golf course is available approx 30 minutes by car. Within easy reach by car or train are Castellon (30kms), Valencia, (100kms), and heading northwards, Barcelona (250kms), cities steeped in history and offering different cultures, traditions and of course 'fiestas'. A wide variety of regular flights operate from the UK to the following airports. Valencia - 1hr 15mins from airport by car to Torreblanca. Reus (Tarragona), 1hr 30mins Girona/Barcelona, 3hrs Alicante, 3hrs Castellon -still under construction but when complete, 30mins. All these times are obviously approximate and we recommend the hiring of a car to fully enjoy the area El Nido is a ten minute drive from Junction 44 on the Autopista AP7.
If you are looking for a break from the rat-race, a chance to unwind and relax, El Nido is the place for you.
