Fontana Golf has an on-site swimming pool with a shallow childrens area in the walled communal garden, just down the lift or stairs right by the door of the second floor apartment. Several superb beaches are a short 10-15 minutes drive away, or you can take the local bus which runs by the cul-de-sac. The Las Filipinas community is situated on the higher ground just off the coastal strip, overlooking Torrevieja town closeby to the north, and La Manga and the Mar Menor to the south. A short walk (Within 300-400 metres) away there is a choice of reasonably priced restaurants, bars, cafes, shops including a large supermarket, and banks. Clustered near and around there are 3 scenic golf courses to try, with others in the area. The spacious lounge leads onto a large balcony where you can dine al fresco at the patio table and chairs or relax on the lounger. There is a sofa bed, easy chair, dining table and chairs for 4, TV and DVD player in the lounge and a radio/CD player. The kitchen has all equipment for meals in, such as cooker hob & oven, microwave, fridge, kettle, toaster, and also a washing machine and iron. A ceiling fan is in the main bedroom and there are free-standing heaters in all rooms. Each bedroom has a large fitted wardrobe with drawer units. There is secure car parking in the basement with lift. Access is from either Alicante airport 60 kms or Murcia airport 40 kms, the apartment being in between them. Budget airlines e.g. Easyjet, Monarch, Thomson and Ryanair fly there. Car hire is easy to do from Record rent a car, Auriga, Centauro, Europa and others. Taxis are available or private transfers can be arranged costing 25 euros from Murcia or 40 euros from Alicante.

This part of the Costa Blanca has more than 300 days of sunshine per year to soak up on any of the several beautiful beaches. For a change from such serious activity you can visit one of the historic towns, go shopping in bustling Torrevieja, explore the little-used roads in the mountains and through pine forest, enjoy watersports in the shallow waters of the Mar Menor that teem with fish life (like the Mediterranean only more so), or just relax with a coffee and pastry at a cafe. On the coastal strip there are loads af restauranta and bars, and shops (although you have to be aware of the spanish siests!) Cycle hire and pony riding are available.
