Vacation Rental Description
El Membrillo is a secluded Finca, thought to be over 300 years old and fully refurbished to a very high standard yet within a genuine easy walk of the town centre and beaches. It offers 5 double bedrooms (3 ensuite) & all airconditioned, split into the "Cottage" and the adjoining "House". The 5 bedrooms all have full size doubles. 2 of the rooms have balconies and either a queen size double or 2 x 3ft singles (your choice). The house has 3 of the bedrooms, a large lounge with woodburning fire with UKTV CD DVD player and large DVD library, dining room, full kitchen which is very well equipped - enough to have full meals without having to wash-up between courses! It has an american-style fridge providing cooled filtered water and ice, dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker, juice extractor, and everything you require to produce a gourmet meal. There is an office with free WiFi, workdesk etc. There is a main bathroom with shower, tub, WC and washbasin (very useful if there are babies in the group) All bed linen, tea towels, bath, hand & pool towels are provided. There are no extra charges for any fuels or airconditioning. There is a Safe for your use. Plenty of car parking. The cottage has the other 2 bedrooms, one with an ensuite bathroom and balcony, the other with a Juliet balcony. Small fully equipped kitchen with full cooker, microwave, fridge, freezer, washing machine. Bathroom with shower, WC and washbasin, dining room and lounge with TV, DVD, woodburning stove. Shaded patio with seating.
There are various shaded patios with garden furniture, and two dining areas seating 10 each.
The outside summer kitchen has barbeque, drinks fridge, preparation area and washing machine. It also has a Paella cooker and pans. The private pool is fully gated for childrens' safety. A separate play room has toys, a play area and its armchairs provide a place for quiet reading, a G&T or an afternoon siesta.
Moraira has easy access from both Alicante and Valencia airports, being about an hour's motorway drive from both. Moraira centre, an easy 10 minute stroll away, offers many bars, international restaurants, good shopping with a Friday market, lots of interesting courtyards and open air cafes.
The Marina caters for large and small yachts and local fishing boats. You can select your own fresh fish each day. The various pretty bays and coves such as El Portet offer lovely safe beaches and waterside cafes.
Moraira has benefitted so much from the local council's decision years ago to restrict development to low rise buildings and thus there are no large hotels, no package-deal apartment blocks and no mass tourism. The jewel in the Costa Blanca crown!
IT SHOULD BE NOTED that any payments made to us are fully bonded in our French Registered Company and we take credit cards giving you that extra financial protection, something you will find hardly anyone else can offer!
Facilities
The fully refurbished 300 year old El Membrillo offers luxury accommodation and amenities with an old world charm. Previous Clients say: "it exceeded our expectations and we will return" "It was so well thought out and equipped that we catered for our family of 10 with no problems at all, something we have never found before" "We were so relaxed, we lazed by the pool and wandered down to the town for a meal every night, we did not need the car at all!" "The Finca has such a homely feel to it, we can see why you love it so much!" Set in its own gardens, it has several shaded patios and eating areas seating 10. Although it is fully equipped inside with fully fitted kitchen, it also has an outside kitchen so cooking outside need not be a chore! There is also a cool playroom with its own collection of toys and books - or maybe that secluded armchair for a gin and tonic and a nice read! Absolutely ideal location for a family gathering.

We provide high chairs, 2 travel cots with linen, stroller, childrens' toys.
We do NOT use any sofabeds - all our beds are high quality, permanent and full size, King or Queen size.

Moraira has been our holiday destination of choice for over 15 years. We have seen it grow and prosper from a little fishing port with very little for the tourist or resident to an upmarket town with superb restaurants, a lively Marina with huge yachts and shops to accommodate their owners.Luckily, many years ago, the town council decreed that no buildings should be above three storey and thus there are no high rise apartment blocks, no cheap hotels and mostly owner-occupied villas set in their own grounds. A perfect quiet location.

- Travel Info: Many low-cost airlines serve Alicante and Valencia - our nearest airports, both being about an hour's drive using motorway virtually all the way. Soon (2012) the high speed rail will come right from London to Valencia and Alicante too.

Saturday to Saturday. 25% deposit on booking, remainder 8 weeks before arrival. £500 security deposit is required with balance payment, repaid max 5 days after vacating subject to no serious damage. English host meets you on arrival, and on departure, Payment accepted by UK Bank sterling transfer, sterling cheque, most credit cards in Euros. It should be noted that we offer most credit cards so that your payments are safeguarded and we are fully bonded though the French Registered Company Mountain-base.com for your added security.

[Translated from the original message] "We (two families from Belarus) rested at El Membrillo in mid-Season 2011. Remain lost in admiration! All our expectations have coincided with what we saw. All that was stated in the description on the website, exactly correspond to reality. The villa comfortably could accommodate all three families with children. Two separate house: one two bedrooms and two shower rooms, a kitchen with all necessary appliances and a cozy living room with video and television equipment, the second house, larger than the first, includes three bedrooms and 3 shower rooms. Also, a kitchen equipped with everything necessary, and a huge living room. Own rather big pool that they have cleaned twice during the week, lounger chairs, umbrellas and towels. Cozy, well-groomed green area. Terraces are a place to relax and equipped with comfortable chairs. There is a barbecue. Even a child's room, which is a neat storage of toys and books. Pleasantly surprised that nothing is left to chance! All about whatever we thought it turned on hand at the right time! It is worth noting that the centre of town with its shops and restaurants, as well as the sea is 10 minutes leisurely walk. The beach is sandy. It was about 34 degrees in the shade, and a warm sea. Vacation was great! I am pleased to go back here again! Thank you! "

Just back from a lovely weeks stay with family, we all had a wonderful time, villa was everything you could ask for, beautiful building, fully equipped, in very quiet area - beautiful gardens and a lovely spacious setting, just a short (downhill) walk to the beach or into town.
All rooms are maintained to a high standard, without sacrificing any of the beautiful character of the place. Thanks C & C, Would definitely stay again!

We have been coming to Moraira for many years and have booked villas each time. Several of our holidays have been in Villas where it said that it was "near the beach and town" Most have been a good drive to anywhere and on Cumbre del Sol it's miles to anywhere! Membrillo is "as it says on the tin" It IS near the beach and it IS within an easy stroll to the town. We think it is perfect. Hope the owners keep renting it out.

We stayed at villa Membrillo for a week in June and I can honestly say that after lots of villa holidays we have finally found the best!! From the moment you arrive you feel like you are in the lap of luxury. It is so well equipped and really thoughtfully furnished with everything you could possibly need for a relaxing holiday.
We spent most of the time chilling out by the pool lazing around on the many sun loungers or dining alfresco using the great outdoor BBQ and Paella cooking stove.
The local beach and town is just a 5 minute stroll down the hill and has loads of stylish bars and restaurants plus a great local market on Friday to stock up on all sorts of Spanish artifacts (plus the obligatory flamenco dress and castanets for the kids).
The villa is spotlessly clean and perfectly maintained, we've already rebooked for next year!

Wir sind eine Gruppe von Freunden (5 Männer und 5 Frauen) und haben diesen Urlaub gebucht als Geburtstagsüberraschung für 2 Freundinnen. Wir trafen voll ins Schwarze. Es war eine superschöne, unvergessliche Woche in dieser traumhalften Finca. Wir werden auf jeden Fall versuchen wieder zu kommen.
Alles in dieser Finca ist genauso wie auf den Fotos. Wir waren völlig überwältigt. Es gibt nicht genug Worte dafür.

We have been visiting Membrillo every year for the past 3 years and have already booked again for 2011. It is the perfect location for a family holiday and has everything we need. The finca is always clean, very well equipped, has a wonderful pool and is the perfect distance from the beach and the centre of Moraira. We always think it cannot get any better but every year the owners seem to find a way of making even more improvements!

We booked this property as the family were coming from USA, France and the UK and it sounded just great! When we arrived, we realised that it was much better than the website! It had loads of space, lots of areas where the older generation could sit quietly out of the sun when necessary whilst the children played in the pool all day. When it says "close to the town and the beach" it genuinely is! We were happy to walk to the beach and go down to the town for a coffee or lunch. Most evenings were spent around the bar-b-que and the side patio table was just great for us all. We brought the baby alarms and could sit out late into the night knowing the children were fast asleep.
It's a great place for a family get together and the drives up into the mountains were superb.

Just love Moraira
Moraira has been our holiday destination of choice for over 15 years. We have seen it grow and prosper from a little fishing port with very little for the tourist or resident to an upmarket town with superb restaurants, a lively marina with huge yachts and shops to accommodate their owners.
Luckily, many years ago, the town council decreed that Moraira should not have any high rise apartment blocks or hotels. This has preserved the town with mainly owner-occupied Villas and no mass tourism. It is a family town with everything to suit.
We were lucky enough to find the only old Finca within easy walking distance of the town and beaches. It was built as a Cortillo over 300 years ago and nestles just below the rise so it was out of view of the pirates sailing the high seas. Today it is a great family location and has been updated to provide all the requirements needed in terms of bathrooms for each air-conditioned bedroom, a modern kitchen, various patios and outside spaces in which to relax. Our poolman reckons that ours is the warmest of all his pools as it is so secluded and is in the sun all day.
Our guests are all family groups, usually celebrating a significant birthday or wedding anniversary and attract groups with 3 generations enjoying our Finca together. Most return year after year, hence the early booking confirmations!
We have El Membrillo in Moraira and two apartments in Chamonix Mont-Blanc and are experienced in knowing what our guests want, need and expect. We try to provide all those things and with our Son's agency, we provide a bonded (French Registered Company, Carte Professionelle) so any money paid to us is secure and bonded for your protection. (Very few Villa owners offer this protection)
