Vacation Rental Description
This lovely ground floor apartment is situated on the attractive low rise gated Pueblo Marino Complex in the Urbanisation of Torreblanca.The complex has the benefit of being placed in a quieter residential area but still conveniently situated between Torrevieja(5 mins drive)and La Mata(3 mins drive),on the South Costa Blanca coast in the province of Alicante,Spain.The nearest beach to us is called Torrelamata,which is a long sandy,blue flag beach and around a 20 minute walk or 2 minute drive.The stunning pool has a reputation as the best pool in the area and is built as three crystal blue swimming pools ,on 3 levels,with a separate children’s section.Lush,shaded gardens,with benches and showers for your comfort,surround the pools and there is plenty of room for sunbathing. You can see the sea and the seaside town of La Mata from the pool area and gardens which are beautifully laid out.The pool is open all year round,only closed in inclement weather or for maintenance and is one of the main reasons we bought the apartment.I have been there many times when I have had the whole area to myself.The patio/garden is spacious and well equipped with garden furniture and sun loungers for up to 6 guests and a small barbeque,enabling you to enjoy Al Fresco drinking/dining on a warm summers evening.Our flowers and trees are a pleasure to look at whilst relaxing and enjoying the sun.Being south facing the patio enjoys hours of sunshine.A fence surrounds the gated patio/garden to ensure total privacy and avoids it being overlooked,all in all making our apartment ideal for outdoor living.Inside are all the comforts of home,aircon,UK SAT 32"TV,DVD player etc.  
The apartment is ideally situated between Torrevieja and La Mata towns. Directly opposite the complex is an English run pub/restaurant‘La Hispaniola Ship’.There is also an English run internet café to help you with just about anything.Slightly further along the road there very friendly and reasonable Spanish bar/restaurant 'La Bahia Blanca which has a pool table and sometimes live music. Within a 5 minute walk a new small attractive shopping centre has opened,called Torremarina.Amongst its shops there is a‘Mercadona’ supermarket - very popular with locals as it is reasonably priced,also,a florist,travel agency - which can book day trips, chemist and dentist.There are also a few bars and restaurants,our favourite being the Chinese Mandarin which has a 3 course menu of the day with drinks from 5.30euros each.There is also regular entertainment at the Celtic Manor 15 minutes walk away and bike hire opposite.  
Torrevieja has a variety of restaurants/bars catering for all tastes,pockets and ages plus a good choice of shops and a huge Friday market.On the outskirts of the town there is the popular ‘Habaneras shopping centre’ and several large hypermarkets with a huge selection of goods for sale at very reasonable prices,even with the fall of the pound against the euro.You can take boat trips from the port and a variety of activities are available including go karting,golf and bowling.There is also an aquapark open June to September nearby. 
A 10 minute walk will bring you to the Las Lomas commercial centre which has bars, restaurants, small shops , a small childrens play area, taxi rank and a bus stop to take you to Torrevieja along the coastal road or, in the other direction to smaller La Mata.Approx once an hour a bus stops just round the corner from the complex to La Mata where there are pretty bars and restaurants, catering for all tastes and budgets, for a beachside drink or meal. The beach at the La Mata town end is attracive and there are sunbeds and parasols and a childrens play park which is popular with tourist and locals alike.On a Wednesday morning a market is held in the colourful back streets where many a bargain can be found.

  • There are two bedrooms - one double and one twin and two double sofa beds in the lounge / diner. We can sleep up to six comfortably , with an additional two children if you don't mind a bit of a squeeze.Throughout the apartment we have furnished the walls with mirrors and pictures,along with neutral colours and cream curtains and bedspreads and bedside lamps in the bedrooms, giving a bright and airy atmosphere . The American kitchen Is well equipped with full oven, hob, fridge / freezer, microwave, toaster, iron and ironing board and an extensive range of crockery and utensils for guests use.The lounge / diner has an extendable dining table and four dining room chairs.There is UK SAT 32" flat scree TV and DVD.Wall units and shelves house various sizes of glasses, books and DVDs and a CD / Radio Cassette player which you are welcome to use during your stay.For your ultimate comfort air conditioning is fitted on a 2 euro coin meter.

  • Opposite the complex are‘La Hispaniola Ship’,an English run internet café which can help with most enquiries.Slightly further along the road (towards the sea) there is an ‘Aladdins cave’ type shop, Bar Bahia Blanca which sometimes has live music and a supermarket.Within a five minute walk a new small shopping centre has opened, called Torremarina. Amongst it’s shops there is a ‘Mercadona’ supermarket - popular with locals as it's reasonably priced, also, a florist, craft shop, travel agency to book day trips, chemist and dentist.There are also a few bars/restaurants,our favourite the Chinese Mandarin where a meal with drinks starts at 5.30e!A 7 minute walk will bring you to the Las Lomas commercial centre which has bars, restaurants, small shops ,a small childrens play area taxis and a bus stop to take you to Torrevieja along the coastal road or, in the other direction to La Mata. La Mata is a smaller town with a Wed market and beach.

    Just a short note to say thanks for the lovely stay in your apartment, we had great weather and location was lovely. Many thanks to Gary and Lynda for their transfers to and from the airport and we also had great help from the staff in the Ship, really helpful.

    Stunning sandy safe beach of Playa de los Naufragos 2 Bed apartment 5 mins walk to stunning Naufragos Beach,near Torrevieja and amenities


    Ideally situated this spacious first floor apartment is the perfect holiday home for families, couples and older singles. Situated in the popular resort of ‘El Paraiso’ – ‘The Paradise’, it is only a 5 minute walk to the lovely sandy, blue flag beach of ‘Playa de Naufragos’ or ‘Shipwreck beach’ , which in no way will describe any of our guests as the apartment is equipped to a high standard with all the comforts of home. If you walk along the beach it leads you to the attractive marina of Torrevieja, which is home to a range of yachts and boats and their exclusive clubs and restaurants. Only around a 40 minutes drive to/from both Alicante and Murcia it is convenient for both their airports and city attractions and historical sights and there are all amenities within easy walking distance The apartment has two bedrooms, comfortably sleeping up to four guests with plenty of outside space for a relaxing and enjoyable stay.
    The new kitchen is well presented and it’s extensive equipment includes a hob, full oven, microwave, fridge freezer , washing machine and the unusual luxury of filtered water from the tap! The apartment benefits from ceiling fans in the lounge and both bedrooms, as an addition to the air conditioning which provides hot and cold air.

    Both bedrooms benefit from fitted mosquito nets, particularly useful in the summer months. The double or Master bedroom provides comfort and ample storage with two bedside tables, dressing table, double wardrobe and an electric blanket for use by our guests in the rarer chillier winter evenings. The second bedroom has a double sofa bed and so can be used as a reception or bedroom and has a bedside table, lamp, mirror and another double wardrobe for guests use. For winter lets there are two small radiators and a vacuum cleaner for those staying on longer stays.

    Tastefully furnished the lounge has a 35” flat screen TV with UK ITV,BBC News SKY and various other channels. Should you prefer a night in with a film there is a DVD player. There are two leather settees and two coffee tables, along with an attractive wall unit with extensive storage space and a large rug. All of which adds to the homely, yet airy atmosphere.

    The large patio is well equipped for the al fresco living with table and six chairs and a large awning to cater for all weathers. There is also a built in chimney barbeque so providing the perfect spot for sunbathing, dining or simply enjoying a drink while watching the sun go down.

    Being only minutes from the beach the area is very popular with holidaymakers and residents alike, and there is something for everyone. On the complex there is a pool and separate children’s pool with a pretty shaded grassed area with plenty of sun loungers for your relaxation and added enjoyment. There is also a pool bar, restaurant and crazy golf adjoining the pool area. An entrance fee is payable of around 4 euros per day for use of the pool and around 4 euros for the crazy golf, with discounts for children. However, there are good discounts for prepayment for a two weeks stay, payable on arrival.
    Within a 5 minute walk the bars and restaurants include traditional Spanish, British, Mexican, German, Indian , Pizza and very reasonably priced Chinese, offering a range of cuisines and catering for all budgets. There is also a supermarket, pharmacy and a shop selling British papers, all very nearby. Should you wish to explore further there are regular buses that go to Torrevieja town centre (around a 5 minute journey) or if you prefer to walk it is a pleasant stroll, along the beach and will take around 20 – 25 minutes. There is plenty of parking space in the road next to the apartment.
    The biggest market in Spain is held in Torrevieja town on a Friday morning where a variety of purchases can be made. Torrevieja is situated next to the sea in the south of the Valencian Community. It is surrounded by two large natural saltwater lagoons that form the well-known "Salterns of Torrevieja", which are considered to be the biggest in Europe and second in the world. Some people bathe in the salt lakes, having a mud bath as they are renowned for their healing properties.
    In Torrevieja town there are several churches, The Archpriest's Parish Church of the Inmaculada Concepción being the most famous in the main square in Torrevieja ‘Plaza de la Constitution’. The building of this church on the site of former temples began in 1880.It holds the statue of the town’s patron saint, La Purisima Concepcion. This image arouses popular fervour in Torrevieja, especially on the two occasions a year that it is taken out for processions. One of the main attractions to Torrevieja are the variety of festivals and carnivals which take place every month.
    Torrevieja is a cultural centre offering something for old and young alike and there are many beautiful beaches, squares, walks, parks, gardens and other natural beauty spots (Ferriz), as well as some wonderful historical monuments such as the 'Modernist Casino' which dates from the beginning of the century and has a famous hall in the mozarabic style. Also there is the 'Recinto de las Eras de la Sal' an open, air theatre.
    There are a variety of restaurants and bars catering for all tastes, pockets and ages plus a good choice of shops from budget to designer. On the outskirts of the town centre there is the popular ‘Habaneras shopping centre’ with the Ozone complex next door which has an English cinema and bowling alley. There are also several large hypermarkets with a huge selection of goods for sale at very reasonable prices, even with the fall of the pound against the euro. You can take boat trips from the port and there is a funfair next to the marina.
    A variety of further activities are available within a 10 minute drive, including Children’s play park at Punta Prima, Go Karting , Cycling, Ten Pin Bowling and a Zoo. There is also a waterpark, Aquapolis, open June to September on the outskirts of Torrevieja town. There are also several school's offering you the chance to do some Scuba Diving, Sea Fishing, and Jet Skiing. For the more adventurous there is also Horse Riding Establishments and Hot Air Ballooning nearby. For the Golf enthusiast there are three golf courses close to Torrevieja, Campoamor, Las Ramblas and the course at Villa Martin is most certainly not to be missed. All of these are within a 20 minute drive from the apartment. Whether your trip to Torrevieja is for a holiday, or on business, we know that you will enjoy your stay.
    If you hire a car, or don’t mind catching a couple of buses, North of Torrevieja, we recommend a visit to the stunning beach at Guardamar, which boast a superb Pine & Eucalyptus Forest, ideal for Picnics and Bar-B-Q’s. If you enjoy a game of Bowls, there is a club at La Marina that welcomes guests. At La Mata are the remains of the old port at Torrevieja, called the Embarcadero Romano, or Roman Docks. Along this coast are the ancient watchtowers called El Moro and La Mata, used in the Middle Ages to warn the coastal inhabitants of attacks by Barbary pirates. La Mata is a smaller, more village like town than Torrevieja and the bus takes you into the town centre, just near the square, by the beautiful sandy beach, which is a gathering point for the locals, especially of an evening when they take their stroll. La Mata is a traditional small Spanish town with a friendly atmosphere.
    The Costa Blanca is an ideal location for some of the most magnificent beaches in Spain, which vary from small coves to long stretches of golden sand with sand dunes. The climate is excellent, with over 300 days of sunshine, and the surrounding area is steeped in history. The Salt lakes and these lagoons help to draw the moisture out of the air, as well as being the home to hundreds of Flamingo's. Combined with a low rainfall (approx 11 days a year), this creates a microclimate with low humidity, which makes the Torrevieja region ideal for asthma, rheumatism, and arthritis sufferers.

    Although the surrounding area is predominantly flat we don’t recommend the apartment for the disabled as there is no lift and the rooms aren’t adapted. We keep our rental prices low as the apartment has a coin meter for electric .Locally there are the services of an English couple, who look after guests during their stay and will help out with any queries or problems that may arise. There is an end of stay cleaning fee of 35 euros and either an airport transfer fee of 40 euros each way from/to Murcia or Alicante or a meet and greet fee of 10 euros should you prefer to make your own way.
