Vacation Rental Description
La Galesa - is a large new detached villa, 8km outside Javea towards the 'Cabo de la Nao', is within a new residential development that has been built in a pine forest. Commanding a desirable front-line position, with nothing but pine trees between the villa and the Mediterranean sea to the front. It overlooks a small bay into which the Romans used to chase dolphins to catch them. A scuba diving club uses the bay and, at the weekends, lots of white-sailed yachts moor there for lazy afternoons, which presents a pretty picture-postcard image.At night, and in the early morning, before the sun rises, the bay is dotted with the lights of lots of local fishing boats.
One can watch the sun rise over the Med while having an early breakfast, and the moon seems to rise in the same place, with its reflection on the sea and on the surface of the horizon swimming pool. At the other side of the house, from the covered terrace, one can enjoy the sun set behind the mountains.
At La Galesa there are four places where one can enjoy your meals:- at the circular granite table in the dining room looking out across the horizon pool to the Med; at the teak table in the naya (covered terrace); at the long glass table on the terrace under the pergola overlooking the sea; and in the sunken garden which is down a few steps from the naya. There is always somewhere cool to eat, or have a drink, at.
There is a gated drive large enough to accommodate 3-4 cars. The house is built around a beautiful inner courtyard with a central fountain. One of the bedrooms leads off the courtyard, another is accessed through the cloister, and the third is accessed from inside the house. Each bedroom has a king-size bed and a very efficient ceiling fan. The master bedroom has two en-suite bathrooms (one has a bath, the other a shower). The two other bedrooms each have an en-suite shower room.
There is also a visitors' cloakroom.
There is a large fully-fitted, and equipped, modern kitchen.
The large bright living room has a huge picture window looking directly on to the broad terrace, the horizon swimming pool, and the sea. At times, Ibiza is clearly seen on the horizon. There is cable TV*, with a DVD and video player, and a portable radio/CD/tape player.
A washing machine, and ironing facilities, are housed in a utility room.
There is a very well stocked supermarket three minutes away by car, with excellent fresh bread and croissants cooked on the premises; lots of English staples, and a good fresh meat counter. But there are lots of restaurants nearby to suit all tastes and pockets.
In Javea, there are three district areas:- the Arenal, a long stretch of sand (the sea is very shallow), with lots of cafes and shops bordering the wide pavement; the Pueblo, (the old Town,) with very narrow streets and typical architecture and a fortified church at the centre; and lastly the Port and marina.
There are many interesting villages in the surrounding areas, and there is a nudist beach for those interested.
Facilities
The villa benefits from an Alarm system. You can hire a z bed for one more person.
