Vacation Rental Description
MEDITERRANEO RURAL is a small family run business comprising two charming country-style self-catering holiday homes: El Sequer and Xaymaca. Both are located in the picturesque Spanish village of Benimeli, a few kilometres inland from Denia and Javea on the Costa Blanca, in the lush citrus growing Marina Alta region of Alicante, Spain. Known as “casas rurales” or rural houses in Spain, they are a similar concept to French gîtes. Jenny and Oswaldo, the owners, have painstakingly and meticulously renovated both these 19th C buildings to very high standards, converting them into two stunning country holiday homes, featured in prestigious guide books and awarded the maximum category by the Spanish Tourism Authorities. XAYMACA is a unique 19thC two-storey country-village house, part of which was originally an oil mill. This magnificent property has been meticulously renovated to provide a stunning and luxurious, self-catering holiday home with a capacity for 8 people. The owners have taken great care to respect original features and architecture, combined with modern installations and equipment for maximum comfort. (Heating, air-conditioning, internet access, SatTV, CD/DVD player, water decalcifier, emergency lighting, library, board games, etc). Stone walls, impressive wooden doors, high beamed ceilings, terracotta floors and Mediterranean colours achieve an elegant but cosy ambience, creating a homely atmosphere.
Upstairs, Xaymaca has four double bedrooms, each with its own en-suite bathroom. Two bedrooms have large queen-sized beds and lead onto a sun terrace with magnificent mountain views, while the other two have twin beds and overlook the village. Each bedroom has been decorated in a different theme and is equipped with cupboard, bedside tables and chairs. Quality bed & bath linen is provided as well as blankets and duvets for winter lets.
Downstairs, there are two spacious living rooms each with its own log-burning stove. One of the living-rooms leads onto the two-level open air patio with a fountain surrounded by Mediterranean plants and flowers, where al fresco meals can be enjoyed The other living-room shares an open plan area with the large dining room with seating for up to 10 people.
The colourful rustic styled kitchen is equipped with all modern appliances for cooking aficionados (ceramic hob, oven, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine, fridge-freezer, coffeemaker, kettle, juicer, toaster, mixer, iron, etc…).
Outdoors, from the patio, steps lead up to the pretty landscaped garden and large swimming pool. There is a covered porch for alfresco meals, a barbecue area, sun loungers & other outdoor furniture, childrens toys and games, etc.
Beyond the garden is the fruit orchard where tangerines, oranges, lemons, avocados, olives, loquats and aromatic herbs can be picked when in season.
From here, there are panoramic views of the Segaria mountain range and the valley.
XAYMACA is located between the village and the countryside, surrounded by orange groves but only a few minutes walk to the village centre. Under the spectacular backdrop of the Segaria mountain, it is the ideal venue for families or a group of friends looking for a relaxing holiday or somewhere to celebrate a special event. This tranquil location, away the bustling crowds, is within easy reach of safe, sandy beaches, many outdoor activities, theme & water parks, main communication routes (only 1 hr from Valencia or Alicante airports), and larger towns offering a variety of amenities, cultural events, excellent gastronomy, local wineries, etc.
At Xaymaca, guests will find their true “home away from home”, where the owners provide an attentive but discreet attention, catering to your every need. Relax, unwind, star-gaze, bird-watch, do nothing or be as active as you like in this simply unique location!
Facilities
At Xaymaca, owners provide a mid-week clean and weekly linen change with weekly rentals. The pool is cleaned twice weekly and garden maintenance is also included in the price. Extra cleaning or baby sitting services can be provided upon request. On arrival, guests are greeted with a special welcome pack that includes tea, coffee, milk, sugar, oil & vinegar, jams, bread and local delicacies, fresh fruit, soft drinks, water, milk & a bottle of wine or cava. Maps and information on the area are also provided.
Activities
Owners can organize visits to local wineries, wine tasting events, gastronomic tours, etc.
