Casa 10-11 has been lovingly restored from a bakery, bodega and shoe factory into a traditional Spanish country house that now offers bed and breakfast accommodation or villa rental for groups up tom 18 persons Retaining many of the original features, the house has been uniquely decorated with themed rooms, hand painted floors and stencilled walls to create a delightful 'shabby chic' ambiance Nestled in a rural village amidst vineyards, orchards and olive groves, the house is surrounded by natural beauty and is perfect for those who wish to experience a taste of the real Spain away from the hustle and bustle of the overcrowded coastline. But there is plenty to do if you don't fancy just sitting relaxing by the pool or exploring the countryside. Alicante and the beaches are a mere 45 minutes away and the Spa town of Fortuna with its thermal baths is just a short drive away. Horse riding, quad biking and other adventure activities can be arranged. There are golf courses within a 20 minute drive. The nearby towns of Pinoso, Sax, Elda, Jumilla and Yecla have many shops, bars and restaurants where you can sample the local delicacies and of course we are situated in an important wine producing region of Southern Spain from where the local wines are exported world wide. There are numerous bodegas in the area to visit where you can sample and compare the excellent wines of the region. The area has many castles and historic buildings that reflect on the diverse and sometimes turbulent past of Spain. The Moorish and North African influences sit side by side with magnificent churches and cathedrals. And of course, no country likes to party quite like the Spanish. Fire, gunpowder music and colour are the most important ingredients of these street parties. La Hoguares de San Juan are Alicante's celebration par excellence, a fiesta which summarises the friendly passionate character of the town. During the last week in June, Alicante's streets become the showcases for ninots (large sculptural representations) that depict satirical characters of social or political life and these amazing works of art are burnt at midnight with a background of fireworks. the party atmosphere is second to none as everyone dances the night away. The Moors and Christian fiestas take place most weekends from February to September and their costumes are amazing. Thousands participate and proudly parade in their wonderful outfits throughout the night. Nearer to home, the local fiestas are an excellent opportunity to join in with your neighbours, eating, talking and dancing in the open air until the early hours of the morning. Our village celebrates its 4 day fiesta in early July and is one of the best around. Last year, having danced the night away with our guests, we cooled off in the swimming pool at 4 in the morning, while the band played on in the village square. Fantastic! Accommodation at Casa 10-11 is provided in beautiful individually themed en suite rooms and can be booked on a bed and breakfast basis or self catering for groups of 6, 9 or 15 people. We have 2 double, 1 twin and 2 family rooms in the east wing and 1 double and the Master suite with main bedroom and lounge/bed in the west wing. The master suite has a private sun terrace overlooking the garden with views of the surrounding countryside. There are lounges and reading areas and a bar and function room where various activities take place such as weekly line dance and Spanish language classes, poker club etc. All guests have access to the outdoor bbqs and eating areas, where you can eat out under the stars each evening from May to September Set in a peaceful rural village amidst vineyards, orchards and olive groves and surrounded by stunning scenery. Casa 10-11 is perfect for those who wish to experience an authentic taste of the real Spain away from the crowded coastline
