Mariposa is a relatively new (2007) large, 3 bedroomed, second floor apartment, located in the stunning 5 star resort of Altea Hills, within walking distance of the 5 star Melia Hotel. 
 
The interior has been furnished to a luxurious but homely standard to make your holiday extra special. 
 
The large lounge and two of the double bedrooms have full width sliding glass doors to the very large balcony with breathtaking views of the sea and Sierra Bernia mountains to the side. 
 
A car is essential if you wish to discover the beaches and local region, but there is plenty to do within walking distance in the hotel area. 
 
There is a private parking space in a secure garage with lifts to the apartment. 
 
Ideal for walkers, cyclists and sports enthusiasts, but also for those seeking a relaxing, healthy holiday. 
 
Altea is a beautiful, unspoilt, coastal town with the Sierra Bernia mountains set as a picturesque backdrop. It has a good all year round climate, with Altea Hills having its own microclimate - said to be one of the healthiest places in Spain.  
 
The bustling town of Calpe is 10 minutes drive away with Javea and Denia 30 minutes to the North. Benidorm, with its beautiful clean beaches and family theme parks and water parks is 20 minutes to the South. 
 
Altea itself is favoured by artists who travel there to paint its spectacular views - many residing in Altea with numerous galleries and shops showing and selling their work. 
 
Altea Plaza de Iglesia is home to the breathtaking church and the square comes alive at night with great restaurants and arts and crafts stalls opening until late.

    Calpe (10 mins drive) - a fishing / seaside town with great shopping facilities and the Penon D'ifach rock reaching out to sea. 
     
    Algar River Natural Fountains (15 mins drive)- a great day out, fantastic waterfalls and fresh water swimming. 
     
    Terra Mitica Theme Park, Terra Natura Theme Park and Aqualandia Water park all within 20 minutes drive. 
     
    Small villages such as Jalon, Alcalali and Parsent are tucked away, but are well worth seeking out especially during Fiesta time. 
     
    Getting There 
     
    Altea Hills is easily reached from Alicante airport to the South (approx 40 mins to the apartment), or Valencia airport to the North (approx 80 mins away).
