Vacation Rental Description
A well laid out apartment, the terrace leads to a large lounge-diner with an inner hall connecting the bathroom, kitchen and bedroom. It has easy access, traditional wooden shutters and furniture, plenty of storage space and comfortable beds. On a slope, the complex has steps and walkways lined by trees and flowers leading to lower levels and bars, restaurant, swimming pool, children's play area and medical centre. The Sierra de Irta rises up behind, and from it's summit one can see inland to the Maestrazgo mountains and the series of beaches to the south. Las Fuentes small beach is within 7 mins walk of the flat. This beach has an unusual feature, with rivulets of sweet water rising through the sand, hence the name Fountains beach in English. The marina is close by, which has a selection of restaurants and shops, and of constant interest to yatchsmen. The village of Alcossebre is an easy 10 min walk along the adjoining promenade with further tourist facilities including the beautiful large beach of Carregador, shops, banks, newsagents, an information office, and many restaurants.
Average temperatures from 14-28 degrees encourage al fresco meals, and the good cheap village restaurants offering both local and foreign cuisine will deter any "home" cooking, except for a lunchtime salad on the beach or terrace.
There is plenty for the active holiday maker to do around the immediate area, for nature and sun-lovers alike, and sightseers have many opportunities to indulge their passion, with several ancients towns within easy driving distance and wonderful mountains to explore a few miles inland. Seasonal clubs open for the young and enegetic to indulge themselves, but the off-peak leisure and peace is to be savoured.
Facilities
The terrace runs in front of both the lounge and bedroom, and has a grassy area in front, both benefiting from afternoon and evening sun. The bed/s can be used as a kingsize bed or pulled apart to provide 2 singles, with room for a child-size mattress on the floor space. In the lounge there is a sofa-bed. There is ample storage and hanging space both in the bedroom and hall, where a large cupboard also doubles as a wardrobe for those using the lounge as a bedroom. The hall allows access to the bathroom and kitchen without disturbing sleepers in either the bedroom or lounge. Local shopping within 4 min stroll through the complex to the lower road for newspapers, bread & cakes, mini-supermarket and chemist. The children's play area is on the mid-level of the complex, as is the community pool, which is open from 10.00 to 18.00 between 1st June and 30th September, with a full time attendant.
Activities
At present golfing is within 30mins drive, but a new course will be opening this year at Cap i Corb, just along the coast, about 15 mins drive.
Nearest beaches - Las Fuentes, with beach bar, volley-ball and life guard in high season.
Carregador, almost 1/2 mile of sandy beach, also affords surfing and rock fishing in winter.
Within short driving distance - Playa Romano and many small sandy beaches and rocky coves streching to Cap i Corb.
To the north - One small cove with beach and protected coastal area for wildlife from lighthouse to Peniscola.
Shopping in Valencia centre allows sight-seeing of ancient cathedral, etc and the exciting new buildings in the old riverbed, with a planetarium, science museum, theatre and opera house, and the grand-prix motor-racing circuit.
Alcala de Xivert the nearest inland town has a market and towered church.
Peniscola - ancient fort around the harbour area and fishing fleet.

Equivalent in Euros accepted. Rates quoted include cleaning & laundry. Short lets charged at daily rate plus cleaning and laundry charge of £30. Long lets negociable. £50 deposit required to secure booking. Remainder of monies to be paid six weeks in advance of holiday. Deposit non-refundable, main payment refund negociable in certain circumstances, ie. health grounds. We advise clients to insure against loss, with regard to flights, holiday payments, illness prior to or during their holiday and personal effects.
