Vacation Rental Description
CASA-CUEVA DEL LUTE is a secluded but not remote 5 room cave with adjoining new 2(ensuite)bedroom house. It is South facing, on three levels and enjoys a unique peaceful and secluded position commanding an elevated unspoiled view down the mountains and across the plain. Behind is a backdrop of the mountain with a variety of mountain walks. The property is positioned in approx. 4000 square metres of terraced land (no close neighbours), with a private pool 8m x 4m (with steps and poolside shower) which gets the warm sun all day long. Spanish courtyard, sun terrace, BBQ, Large private parking area with car port. Stunning mountain views. There are steps up to a sun terrace above the cave which gives a spectacular view of the surrounding countryside. This is a perfect place for reading and relaxing with a glass of wine both in the daytime and the evening. The sky at night is fantastic - no street lights to spoil it. Below is the Spanish courtyard which hosts the sun for part of the day, giving shade if required.
Price all inclusive. Bed linen, bath towels, hair dryers provided (to save your baggage allowance).
2 TV's (one in house, one in cave). Videos, DVDs, CDs, books (book exchange system) and jigsaw puzzles are available. Fans provided. Two wood burners (one in house, one in the cave).
Fortuna is 50 minutes Southwest of Alicante Airport and 50 minutes from Murcia Airport (Murcia airport closes at night, so be aware that if you have a late or delayed flight, you could get transferred, which can mess up your car hire arrangements. Murcia City is approx. 25 minutes away. Spa baths in Fortuna and Archena - healing waters treatment rooms and cafe. Golf courses in the area. Free tennis in Fortuna. Hire car is necessary.
Prices are based on weekly rental for FOUR people. For each extra person £60 per week should be added to the price.
All shops close on Sundays: restaurants are open. If you need any shopping to tide you over, our housekeeper will do a pre-arranged shop for you for about €12 (she has to drive into Fortuna, shop, then bring it back to the villa and put it in the fridge/freezer, this all takes time). There is plenty of fridge/freezer space in the property, including a large fridge/freezer in the BBQ cave. My husband has put a notice on it "Old and tired, but like my owners, still working!" For chilly mortals, there is a choice of blankets and/or duvets. There are usually some basics in the cupboards; we ask that if you finish something, you would be kind enough to replace it. When eating in, you have choices as to where you dine. You have the dining room in the cave which seats 8 people, the courtyard which also seats eight people. The area around the pool which is adaptable or the sun terrace with the marble topped table seats 4/5 people. You also have a Patio area outside one of the house bedrooms should you wish to drink your morning coffee in the sun. In summer, swallows give great entertainment by swooping down for beakfuls of water, then trying to teach their young to do the same. In the evening they provide a mass chorus and flying display. Red Kites (eagle-sized birds) are also to be seen on occasions. We also have a family of geckos - pink lizards with pretty tiny feet and toes. They usually come out at night in the courtyard when the lights are on, as the light attracts the insects.
It is recommended that if you go out for the evening, you leave one of the courtyard lights on - it makes life easier if you can see where the keyhole is. There are two sets of lockable gates - one at the bottom level at the end of the drive - the second set close to the house. Driving through the bottom gate gives you access up and round the bend, to the car park and car port which are situated beyond the swimming pool area.
The housekeeper is available should you have problems.
Facilities
Cooling fans provided. Washing line, Iron and Ironing board available. Large car parking area. Car port to keep car cool. Beds are made up ready for arrival, extra linen is available for changing if required (i.e. two week stay). Duvets also available for the cooler nights. To keep costs down, do please leave Villa as clean and tidy as you found it. TV Channels in both cave and house are printed out and attached to TV's.

When suited, please forward your deposit of £100 per week for the date required. Deposits are not refundable. Balance of the rental fee is due no less than 28 days prior to commencement of your holiday. Cheques to be made payable to J. Bennett. On receipt of the balance, we will remit the keys, directions and useful information.
