Vacation Rental Description
‘Albatross 3’ is the jewel in the crown of Mar de Cristal which is arguably one of the best and least spoilt beach resorts in Spain. Largely unspoilt by mass UK tourism this resort is lovely and peaceful outside the main season but bursts into life in July and August when the Spanish start to holiday. The crystal waters of the Mar Menor are a short walk away with its warm calm and shallow waters being ideal for young children. On the other side of the peninsula (5-10 minute drive) is the Calblanque national park with truly fantastic beaches fronting the Mediterranean sea. While Mar de Cristal has a limited number of restaurants and bars the nearby (2km) small town of Los Belones has a very wide choice of bars, restaurants, shops and banks. The property is 10 minutes drive from the famous La Manga Club resort and a similar distance from the beautiful fishing port of Cabo de Palos. A little further afield in the historic town of Cartagena with its Roman ruins. Bedroom 1, upstairs king size bed.

Cooker, 4-ring hob, extractor hood, large fridge/freezer, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, sandwich maker and sufficient kitchen equipment for gourmet cooking.
Washing machine, iron, ironing board and various beach and play equipment.
Large living dining room with 2 large very comfortable sofas, flatscreen TV with UK channels and Sky, DVD and Playstation (no games), coffee table, side tables with lamps and dining table to seat 6 with sideboard.
All towels and linen including pool towels provided. Weekly maid cleaning service available at extra cost.
Facilities
We have equiped the property with high quality equipment with the emphasis being on a home from home. The beds are very comfortable with a king size in the master bedroom. The suite is top quality and the kitchen is extreme;y well equiped.
Activities
Mar de Cristal has a a fantastic tennis club which is very friendly and great for tennis enthusiasts especially in the winter months. We can organise tennis breaks. Courts can be booked through us from as little as 8 euros per hour and coaching from 30 euros per hour from a highly respected recently highly ranked professional player. We can pre book courts for you and have a British host to introduce you to the club.
Other activities within easy reach include the golf resorts of the La Manga club, horse riding, sailing and all water sports are nearby.

Mar de Cristal is a lovely sea side location on the Mar Menor which is an inland sea water lake near la Manga. The local beach is very save for young children as the sea is calm and the water shallow. mar de Cristal in the height of seson is very popular with the Spanish but also with the British, Dutch and others. Out of season it is very tranquil on the sea front there are no shops just a handful of refreshment bars. Nearby is the fantastic Cal Blanque national park with it's fantastic mediterrean beaches. Owners Profile
A family holiday home
We are a happily married couple with 3 grown up children and one much younger daughter. We live in Bradford where we run our own business.
When looking for a property we wanted a secure location for our young daughter to play, good ground floor facilities for elderly parents to enjoy, a short stroll to a save beach, more Spanish than British yet be able to buy a British paper, excellent local activities, peaceful tranquil location and most of all a real home from home.
Outside of July and August the first thing you notice in the silence and tranquility. In July and August the village comes to live with families from mainly Spain but also the UK and Holland. The local beaches are fantastic the local beach on the Mar Menor is extremely quiet with lovely calm warm and safe water. The near by Cal Blanque beaches are in our opinion probably the best we have ever seen, this is not Spain as you would imagine.
Within the village is an extremely friendly tennis club which offers great value for all the family.
