Vacation Rental Description
Third floor apartment, with splendid views out towards the sea, close to the beach of Mar de Cristal on the Mar Menor in new block with a communal pool. Fully equipped kitchen including microwave and washing machine, lounge diner with direct access to balcony for easy outdoor dining. Full air conditioning, also TV, DVD player and stereo.
It is a five to ten minute walk to the beach with beach bars, a few restaurants, marina and Tennis Club. There are a couple of supermarkets one with a small bar and internet access.
Los Belones is a couple of miles away, or a gentle 30 minute walk, with excellent restuarants Italian, English, Indian, Thai and Spanish. As well as a few bars and shops.
The La Manga Strip is a ten minute drive, or about 15€ in a taxi, with numerous restaurants, bars and nightlife, as well as plenty of shops.
PLACES TO VISIT:
Along the Mar Menor there are residential and fishing villages, including Los Urrutias, Los Nietos, Isla Menores and Playa Honda, many have a weekly market with all the traditional local items available.
Cabo De Palos
Is a lovely fishing harbour, with many bars, and with great fish restaurants cooking locally caught fish, and caldero (a soupy rice dish). Or why not visit the fish market and buy your own or be tempted by the patisserie next door. It also has two bathing areas, Playa de Levante, and endless beach connected to La Manga ideal for long walks and Calas de Poniente, steep and rocky coves with crystal-clear waters and spectacular underwater scenery.
Calablanque
Is a wonderful nature reserve with unspoilt beaches and crystal-clear waters, the bumpy track is well worth the effort.
Cartagena
Cartegena, built around a superb natural harbour was founded by Hannibal. It is a large busy city with hyper-markets, El Corte Englais etc. The old part of the city has museums, superb architecture and old-fashioned shops. The port has a palm-lined esplanade which is a pleasant place to explore, enjoy a meal at one of its restaurants or take a boat trip. Isaac Perel’s submarine, a world-first built here in 1888 can be found at the port.

The Mar Menor is 66 square miles in size with warm waters and great sports facilities, making it one of the best places in Europe to learn and practice all kinds of water sports. It has centres for all types of water sports offering various different courses. The Mar Menor is separated from the Mediterranean by a narrow strip of land. Its waters are normally 5 degrees warmer than the Mediterranean.
Golf
La Manga Club is just ten minutes drive away with three championship courses they can be expensive but they do have offers from time to time. There are many other courses in the area, Torre Pacheco, Villamartin, La Serene, Rhoda, La Finca, Los Rambles, Altorreal, La Marquesea, Fuente Alamo, Mose Trajectun play a different course every day!
La Manga Club is open to non residents for many others sports such as tennis & bowls. It has many bars and restaurants serving all types of food, Spanish, Chinese, Indian, Asian and a English Pub.

Transfers to and from the airport are available if you choose not to hire a vehicle, and there are some shops nearby.
