Ribera beach, Mar de Cristal 3rd floor self-catering apartment with tranquil views from balcony of the sensational Mar Menor surrounding areas and mountains, overlooks a peaceful garden area with a 10 minutes walk to beach short drive to the famous La Manga Club. The apartment has air conditioning and comprises of 2 bedrooms, 1 double 1 twin sleeps 4 people with a further sofa bed available bedding and towels provided, The bathroom has bath with over shower and bidet, hair dryer. A fully quipped kitchen includes washing machine, oven,hob, microwave, fridge/freezer(for those who want to cook). A comfortable spacious lounge with TV, spanish chanels only,dvd player, dining area seats 4, patio door leading to the balcony, which receives the morning sun a pleasant and tranquil way to start and plan your day over breakfast, along with table & chairs there is 1 sun bed. 4 beach chairs are provided. The private communal pool receives the sun from mid morning, open till 10 during the summer evenings. This region of Spain is situated on the Costa Calida. The Costa Calida is on the South East coast & is the driest region of Spain enjoying around 320 days of sunshine, it is therefore ideal for all year round holidays. Mar de Cristal is approximately 25 mins drive from Murcia/San Javier Airport. It is on the coast of the Mar Menor, a salt water lagoon, separated from the Mediterranean by a narrow peninsular, the water is about 5c warmer than the Med, the beach is a 10 minute walk from the apartment it is sandy & child-friendly.The calm, mineral rich water of the Mar Menor is the perfect place for therapeutic treatment for skin and arthritic complaints. The area around the Mar Menor is relatively flat, which is good for walking, cycling and has numerous villages and beaches along the coastline.
The region offers excellent food & drink, water sports & golf, where you can play a different course everyday including Club La Manga, which is a short drive away. Other local attractions include the nature reserve & beautiful beaches of Calblanque National Park, the fishing village of Cabo de Palos, the historic city and harbour of Cartegena, La Manga Strip with restaurants, bars & nightlife & the nearby villages of Los Belones & Los Nietos with bars. Los Nietos has a railway station, the train travels through several villages and ends up in Cartegena.
Cartagena is a fascinating seaport and the regions second largest city, with charm and character stretching back over 3,000 years. The architecture is fascinating with many tourist attractions including the remains of a Roman amphitheatre and archaeological, military and modern museums, for those that prefer shopping, It offers modern fashion and jewellers shops, traditional tapas bars and restaurants. The best view of the port is from Parque Torre; in the distance are the lighthouses and traces of old fortifications that defended the entrance to the port for centuries. Further evidence of the ancient defences can be seen near Portman where the ‘Portman Guns’ originally built in the UK but now disused, aim harmlessly out to sea.
For those that love markets, these can be found most days along the coast, Sunday is market day in Cabo de Palos, Monday in San Pedro, Tuesday a small market in Los Belones. For golfers there are numerous courses within the region.

La Manga Club Golf Academy also provide 5 day clinics Monday –Friday. Expert tuition by leading P G A teaching professionals; Seminars on rules and etiquette with audio visual systems; ASTAR computerised video teaching system. This most advanced system allows the pupil to have his/her swing analysed and to review it in the comfort of his/ her favourite armchair at home or back at the apartment at the end of the day; Golf demonstrations - 542 euros; Private golf lessons 55 minutes - 70 euros; 25 minutes - 35 euros.

This is my personal holiday home.
l bought my apartment for my personal holidays in Spain and truly love it there, this is why l have made my apartment comfortable providing a fully equiped kitchen so it more like home from home, l have a dvd player and leave films in the apartment to watch during the evening, there are cards and some games to play along with books if you wish to read. The apartment is in a nice area in Mar de Cristal it overlooks a garden area which is very peaceful, with the mountains in the distance and l can see the Mar Menor all from my balcony which receives the sun till about 1.00 in the afternoon this provides me with really lazy mornings, l tend to have breakfast on the balcony and read a book whilst l catch a tan, when the sun goes off the balcony its then time to go to the pool which has the sun all day on it, or to take a gentle stroll to the beach where the sand is clean and the water is safe for both adults and children to play in whilst watching the small fish swim round.
There are plenty of markets around the area including one in the summer months in Mar de Cristal, my personal favourite is in Cabo de Palos on Sunday it is a vibrant lively market where you can spend the day and buy anything you want, before going to a tapas bar for refreshments. l feel that l was lucky to come accross this area as l get the best of both with the Mar Menor or within a short drive l can be on a beach overlooking the mediterranean.
Each visit we make to spain we always make our way up la Manga strip to Thomas Maestre, we just the boats there and the bars along the front, so nice to relax watching the world go by.
My holidays are always far to short, but l do love sharing my apartment with others so that they can see some of my world and have a lovely relaxing holiday. l have not had any bad experiences from anyone who has rented, only lovely comments when booking for the following holiday there.
