This beautiful, comfortable, well furnished apartment, in its small exclusive complex, with own private patios and communal pool, is only 5 minutes walk from all amenities (banks, shops, markets, restaurants) and the stunning 7 kms of the Mar Menor beaches. Take a gentle stroll along the “paseo” which is lined with cafes and play areas and where water sports facilities can be enjoyed. Several golf courses can be found locally including the famous La Manga club. The fascinating cities of Murcia and Cartagena are a short drive away. This area benefits from having on average 320 days a year sunshine so obviously the resort can be busy at the height of the season, but is a peaceful, tranquil retreat in the low season. The apartment is a 10 minute, 10 Euro taxi ride from Murcia (San Javier) airport. Changeover day Changeover is flexible. Living Rooms: Spacious lounge/dining room with ceiling fans, sofas, table and 6 chairs, unit with TV, CD player. Front and rear patios with furniture. Cleaning/towels/ linen/maid service: All bed linen, towels, tea towels (not beach towels) provided. Notes on accommodation No pets, no smoking inside the apartment please. Heating provided in winter months. A guest manual is provided, giving information on the area and places to visit. A welcome pack of basic food items is provided so that those who arrive late don´t have to shop immediately. Coast/Beach The beautiful, clean beaches which are very close are long and sandy, lined with a wide promenade, the “paseo”, which is popular with both locals and visitors. The Mar Menor has warm, calm, shallow waters and is popular for bathing and water sports, and for the more adventurous to use the therapeutic mud. Calblanque a tranquil natural park with wild life and spectacular unspoilt, quiet beaches is on the Mediterranean coast only a short drive away. Golf There are several golf courses nearby including the famous La Manga Club. There are also 2 new courses have just been opened in Los Alcazares and others are being constructed outside Los Alcazares. Travel A 10 minute drive from San Javier (Murcia) airport, 50 minutes from Alicante. Car hire not essential, but recommended for exploring further afield (www.carjet.com or local companies). Further details Los Alcazares offers the visitor a huge choice of activities; water sports, indoor and outdoor pools, tennis, cycle hire, go karting, boat trips, spa baths, golf, local markets, good food and dancing (www.los-alcazares.com). Further afield enjoy; the baroque city of Murcia with its spectacular cathedral and various department stores; the bustling city of Cartagena, with its wonderful harbour frontage and historic Roman sites; Sierra Espuna mountains; Calblanque National Park and nature reserve; salt lakes of San Pedro; hot springs and health treatments at Fortuna and Archena.
