Vacation Rental Description
We have owned the property since it was completed about five years ago. We did not want the crowds at the coast so when we came across this small development sitting on the edge of a Spanish village it seemd too good to be true. the people on the the development are pleasant and always willing to help out any visitors. As we live next to a small village there are pleny of amenities such as two supermarkets, bakery, restaurant, three bars, tobacconist and even a hairdresser. Its just a short walk by the five a side football pitch and you are in the heart of the village.
There is even a choice when you go to the coast. Choose the azure Mediterranean Sea with its golden beaches and great surf. Many of our favourite Med beaches have great beach bars serving jugs of cool Sangria at the end of the day. If you fancy something differant head to the Mar Menor or little sea. It is actually a large lagoon and is a maximum of 15m deep. This makes it ideal for the young. Esther Williams called it the largest swimming pool in the world and in the summer gets quite warm. No matter where you go we would always recommend you to go Spanish. The locals refer to us English as Gambas or prawns as many stake out in the sun all day till 6pm when they leave the beach with a pinky red hue. The Spanish get out of the sun in the early afternoon and go for a menu del dia ( menu of the day). This simple meal offers about 5 choices per course its usually good homecooked food including fresh fish and paellas. It is common to get a three course meal with a salad, drinks and coffee for less than 10 euros. They return to the beach at about 4pm and will stay till the sun eventually goes. If you don't fancy a big meal there are plenty of bars serving cold beer with tapas.
There are about 4 large shopping centres within about 30 minutes of the villa. Each has a hypermarket and a vast array of fashionable and stylish stores. Near one of these is the brilliant Terra Natura and Aqua Natur parks. One is a great zoo where you can see animals in great natural environments before cooling down in the water park with a variety of flumes. My favourite is the large bucket at the start which dumps thousands of gallons of cool refreshing water over everyone to yelps of delight.
If you are looking for something a little quieter then venture into Murcia. Leave the car in the underground car park and walk round the magnificent cathedral and the narrow streets with their beautiful shops or watch the world go by from one of the cafes in the plaza, its a real undiscovered treasue. If this is your thing then venture a further 20 minutes north to Archena. A recently developed natural warm spring is the inspiration to this brilliant spa offering a variety of treatments to help you unwind even further.
There are golf courses aplenty to offer a variety of challenges. Links courses, desert courses, championship courses to entice golfers of all standards. There are two half sets at the villa for those who want to take advantage of all those courses.
We love the fact that the villa is in such a quiet relaxing environment but we have the option of a variety of more nergetic pursuits if the mood takes us.

Travel Options
- Nearest Airport : San Javier at 25 miles distance;
- Nearest Train Station : Riquelme at 3 miles distance
- Travel Info: The nearest airport is San Javier (Murcia - MJV). Easyjet, Ryanair, Jet2 and BMIbaby all fly into this small military airport.
Alicante airport is only an hour's drive away and probably offers more travel options and lower prices.
Although we have had visitors who have just stayed in the village, we feel the best can be got from the area by having a hire car. Many options are available at both airports and is worth securing before departure
