Having said that you don't need to be a golfer to enjoy the Polaris World experience - it is a fantastic holiday resort for all: young, old, singles, couples and families. 
You can have a great holiday in La Torre without even having to leave the resort if you don't want to hire a car. The airport is only a 20 min taxi ride away. However for the more adventurous holiday maker it is a good base to explore the region of Murcia. Murcia city is a beautiful city with a breath-taking cathederal, pretty boutiques and shops, a wealth of excellent restaurants and quaint little side streets leading to typical spanish squares where you can stop, rest, have a coffee or something stronger and watch the world go by. 
Cartagena is another city just 20 mins away from La Torre with all the attractions of Murcia in equal measure. In addition there is the port of Cartagena which is a hive of activity during the day with it's terrific shops and restaurants and by night the lights reflecting off the water make it an inviting place to take a romantic stroll and view the amazing cruise ships and yachts that sail in. 
30 mins away you have an animal and water park for a great family day out. There are also numerous sandy beaches all within 20 mins of the resort.
