Vacation Rental Description

This is a family-friendly self-catering house within a secure gated community for a relaxed, beach-based, family holiday with scope for exploring the locality. The garden is fully enclosed and it is possible to park in the grounds. Besides the porch area and large outdoor terrace in the garden, there is a sunroof, and the main bedroom has its own private terrace with plants, a table and chairs. Sun loungers included. Alternatively the property is eminently suitable as a base for golfers and single sex parties are considered if well behaved. Please speak to owners.

The communal pool has a children’s shallow area. The pool is a few metres from the house with about 3 other houses in between, near enough to be convenient but not near enough to be noisy.

The main bedroom has a double bed. The other 2 bedrooms have twin beds. The sofa in the lounge converts into a comfortable double bed. One of the twin rooms is downstairs as is the shower room which makes the property suitable for the less agile or less mobile. Bedrooms have built in wardrobes and bedside tables with lamps.

The house is well-equipped. We like to think of the house as a “home from home” but without being cluttered.

The Villamartin Plaza with a well-stocked supermarket, cashpoints, internet access and the golf club are a 5 minute drive away. The Plaza is a picturesque 2 storey complex of restaurants and bars with evening entertainment around a fountain with palm trees and tropical plants. Children and teenagers meet at the centre and have a great time. Many other precincts nearby have similar amenities. Los Dolses has at least two internet cafés. There are about 12 superb golf courses in the area. Clubbers can go to Pacha and other clubs at Torrevieja.

The owners find that the nearby genuine Spanish restaurants offer outstanding value. For lunch many cost less than 10 euros per person & include a bottle of wine per couple.

Cycling - There is a canal service road running between San Miguel and Pilar de Horadada which can be accessed near Villamartin. Cars do use it but it isn't busy. Between a point near the Campoamor golf course and Pilar there is virtually no traffic apart from that concerned with the maintenance of the canal or agricultural activities which makes it ideal for relaxed cycling. There are views across the fields. Also as the road runs alongside a canal it isn't at all hilly. The same road runs in the other direction to San Miguel and is similarly quiet, though cars do use the whole route.

The house has English TV with a DVD. There is a coolbag (with ice packs) together with rucksacks and parasols that guests can use. Other items include an iron, kettle, hair dryer, CD player/radio, well-equipped crockery and cutlery, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, oven and hob, washing machine, microwave oven, juicer, hand-held blender, cafetiere and gas barbeque (and a small charcoal barbeque on roof terrace). We like to think of the house as a “home from home” but without being cluttered. Many lovely beaches are nearby with bars, restaurants and good facilities. They include La Zenia, Guadamar, Campoamor, Mil Palmeras and Cabo Roig, all with soft white sand. Nearby Torrevieja has a great waterpark. There are many local markets nearby. Torrevieja's long sea front has a market late into the evenings with a vibrant atmosphere.

Murcia is only 45 mins away and its old quarter is literally breathtaking with a huge square inside the area formed by the large old cathedral and Bishops Palace. Further afield near Benidorm there is a very large waterpark and a safari park. In the other direction (south) is the hill town of Mojacar and Cartagena boasting a roman amphitheatre. Nearer to Villamartin is San Miguel offering a local market and a glimpse of real Spanish life. A short distance to the north along the N332 near the Carrefour hypermarket is a large shopping centre catering for most needs including designer wear.

There are about 12 good picturesque courses in the area most on a pay per play basis, the nearest and is probably most well-known being Villamartin Golf Course a 5 minute drive away. Campoamor's five star clubhouse with superb views is also a great place to eat. Other nearby courses include Las Ramblas and La Finca golf courses.

A non-refundable deposit of 20% is required on all confirmed bookings. The balance has to be paid 6 weeks before the holiday starts. A refundable damage deposit of £150 must be paid. Cleaning, bed linen/towel hire and a “meet’n’greet” service costs an additional £80 up to 6 people and £100 up to 8 people. . Payment by cheque or bank transfer to our UK or Spanish bank accounts. . The price includes full use of communal pools, electricity, water, air-con, etc. Payment will be accepted in euros if required, the conversion rate from sterling to be determined by the owners (a) at the time of booking for the deposit and (b) for the final balance at the time of payment. For longer stays of 4 weeks and above, the owners will consider a discount. Please speak to the owners.
