Casa do Forno looks out across its own private grounds of mature trees, lawns and swimming pool.
Although set off a rural lane and surrounded by open countryside, a couple of local shops and bars can be found walking distance away, whilst the larger centre of A Estrada is 5 minutes drive away.
Alternatively, the impressive UNESCO heritage site of Santiago de Compostela with its superb cathedral and wealth of local tapas bars and restaurants can be reached by way of a 20 minute drive.
Nevertheless, guests may not feel the need to venture far, since the property itself offers its own "on request" catering services. These are ideal for families who wish to have dinners or breakfast served in the large annexed dining room (which also has its own separate kitchen for the cook).

This is a great villa with a spacious living area with open stone fire place, a huge dinning table, fully equipped kitchen, reading area and with all 5 en-suite bedrooms, one of them with a great terrace over looking the fantastic countryside scenery.

Awaiting to be enjoyed, Casa do Forno also offers a private large garden with pool, terrace, swings, bikes and a ping pong table.
Easy to enjoy lovely long summer days just sitting by the pool with a glass of wine and a good book and at night a BBQ with the great quality and priced Galician meat and fish.

We highly recomend to adventure yourselves into long walks around the village and down to the Roman church of Nigoi. No need for signposting as the villagers in Spanish or Galego will be pleased to help you find your way back to Casa do Forno.

This is one of these places where it feels the time has stopped and the way of living remains the same from generations. The same old lady walking her sheep, the men in the local bar at night playing cards and drinking the local wine and their wifes at home all busy in their kitchens preparing their most delicious galician dishes. Like this day after day...

Casa do Forno is located only five minutes from the bustling market town centre of A Estrada and it offers the luxury of being in the peaceful and picturesque setting of the mountains yet within minutes of the local attractions.

The A Estrada municipality boasts an abundant historical heritage including forts, cruceiros (carved stone crosses), Romanesque churches, and the manor houses scattered about the lands of the old Tabeirós. Among these manor houses, the most important is the showy Pazo de Oca, known for the splendid and carefully tended gardens that have given it the name Versailles of Galicia. The house has two floors, with large windows that open onto the gallery and look out over the gardens. It also has large rooms, paintings, and a characteristic Galician kitchen. Delicious salmon, eels, and trout can be caught in the rivers of A Estrada
