There are several outdoor swimming pools in the area, perhaps the most stunning is the one at Vilanova de Meia, approx 45 minutes drive. There is another at Hotel Terradets which also has a nice restaurant overlooking the lake where it is also possible to swim. Close by is the small train station at Cellers where it is possible to catch the little orange train to Pobla de Segur (gateway to the high mountains) and take in the stunning views of the lakes and mountains. Once the snow begins to melt and the Noguera River fills, the white water rafting companies open their doors, offering an exhilarating and unique experience. The gorge at Vilanova de Meia offers some of the finest rock climbing in Europe attracting climbers from far and wide. The whole area is a birdwatcher's paradise. Often seen in spring and summer, hoopoe, golden oriole, golden eagle, short toed eagle and the rare majestic Lammergeier.
