Welcome to Casa Nova d'en Borra, a Catalan masia, situated in the La Selva region of Girona province. Built in 1853, recently updated, Casa Nova D'en Borra is a generous and charming house, which offers modern comfort within it's 19th Century walls, with a sense of light and space. The masia is managed by it's owners who pride themselves in providing a comfortable house for guests. The masia is available as private rental accommodation - long lets, weekly rentals, short and weekend breaks. Open all year.  
 
The masia is set within fifteen hectares and has an open aspect to the south, looking out from the walled garden and the large porch with traditional bbq, over fields to it's cork wood and hazelnut grove. 
Days can be as lazy or as active as you wish at Casa Nova D'en Borra. The masia enjoys total privacy in the stunning La Selva countryside, yet is not isolated - the small medieval village, Brunyola and it's excellent restaurant is a two minute drive and Girona city centre is within fifteen minutes. The masia is superbly located for guests to enjoy all aspects of Catalunya - explore the medieval villages of Besalu and Peratallada; play golf at the PGA Catalunya; family fun at Franciac pitch and putt; relax at the health spa in Santa Coloma; lunch at Tamariu or Calella overlooking the Costa Brava coast; take a boat trip from L'Estartit, Dali's museum at Figueras; Iberian village at Ullastret; walking; cycling; art and culture; water activities; children's activities; shopping. Transport links are excellent -  
Airports - Girona airport is ten minutes to the east, Barcelona is an hour to the south and Perpignan is an hour to the north.  
Road - The AP-7 road, junction 8, is ten to fifteen minutes to the east for direct access to the south and the north.  
Trains - Girona and Caldes de Malavella train stations are both within twenty minutes, excellent for easy travel into Barcelona - ideal for a days sightseeing. Perpignan and the TGV is an hour to the north.  
 
The masia, at present has six double bedrooms and sleeps a maximum of sixteen people - 
BEDROOM 1 - Standard double, ensuite, ground floor. 
BEDROOM 2 - Standard double, ensuite, first floor. 
BEDROOM 3 - Standard double, shared bathroom, first floor. 
BEDROOM 4 - Bunk bed with double on bottom and single on top, shared bathroom, first floor. 
( Bedrroms 3 & 4 share a bathroom, between the two rooms with connecting doors). 
BEDROOM 5 - Large double, with double bed and single daybed. Chair bed in dressing area. Large ensuite, first floor. 
BEDROOM 6 - Large double bedroom, en suite, top floor. 
 
A folding single bed and two cots are available. 
The first floor terrace is accessed by bedroom 4. 
 
Prices, weekly rentals or more, are based on two group sizes renting the masia - larger groups of nine and more, smaller groups of eight or less. 
 
Restricted mobility / disabled / wheelchair - the masia has a ground floor bedroom, en suite with shower. The outside doors have one step access to the masia & the front and inner doors are double opening. The ground floor is all on one level once in and the garden and porch area is a mix of grass and crazy paving, with a slight slope to the double entry iron gates. There are no specific aids in the bathroom and bedroom, though there is access. Please contact us if you have any particular queries or if we can be of help with specific equipment. 
 
A "welcome basket", will be provided on arrival, with food & drink essentials for those staying for a week or more.

Additional facilities - Stove & electric kettle, coffee machine, toaster, iron & ironing board, freezer, vacuum cleaner. All rooms have either ceiling or floor fans. The masia has wifi connection - gratis. Bed linen & towels provided. The masia will be cleaned prior to check-in - additional cleaning service & laundry available, please ask for details. A large sitting room with wood burning stove, additional seating area, dining room, dining kitchen & seperate toilet are on the ground floor. The pool is set within the walled garden, with shower. There is a large south and west facing porch, with traditional bbq, drinks fridge, extendable tables, chairs & ceiling fans. The porch is ideally placed for al fresco dining, to relax under, to enjoy the sunset and for parents to keep an eye on children in the pool. Al fresco dining is enjoyed under it's sheltering roof all year round. There are parasols, sun loungers & games.

Girona province enjoys all the seasons; with it's temperate climate it is a superb area to visit all year round. 
In winter days tend to be mild with blue skies & sunshine; the snow gleams on the distant Pyrenees. There is a short period when you waken up to beautiful twinkling frosty mornings, which are then warmed up in the sun, lunch is al fresco & nights tend to be chilly but most enjoyable in front of a roaring log fire. Spring brings the blossom, some rain and the thermometer rises towards summer. The province, in general has superb weather, but without the extreme heat of the south and interior. 
Casa Nova is ideally situated to enjoy all aspects of Girona Province - exploring Girona & medieval villages, Costa Brava, golf at the nearby PGA Catalunya, walking, cycling, ski-ing, lazing in the sun, Barcelona & all traditional markets & festivals.
