Located 7 km from Santillana del Mar, and 4 km from the beachThe LA MATILDA house is located in a large private estate filled with 1,800m² of native trees and fruit trees, is entirely surrounded by high walls (1.8m) and enjoys a perfect rural environment in the midst of Cantabrian nature. Moreover, the river that flows through the property and its stone bridge, provide the estate with a special charm and increase the sense of being in full contact with nature.
The state provides complete privacy, making it the perfect environment for rest and relaxation, enjoying the sun, reading, painting…
Santillana del Mar, a popular village with tourists, is only 7km away and Cóbreces Beach, a beach of fine sand, is only 4km away. Cantabria’s capital city, Santander, is only 36km down the convenient motorway.
The house can be found in the heart of the village, but is nonetheless, in private grounds, secluded by high stone walls and for the sole use of guests. The house is ideal for meditation and peace and quiet. The only sounds to be heard are the tweeting of birds and the water in the river.
The smallest members of the family will be delighted to find that the river plays host to some of their feathered friends: geese and ducks.
The property includes a barbecue and the utensils needed to use it, as well as stone tables to enjoy dining out.
Parking: Cars can be parked safely inside the property and within sight from the house.
The house covers an area of 110m² distributed among a kitchen-diner, sitting room, 2 bedrooms with 7 beds in total and one bathroom. The house has cooking utensils, glass ceramic cooker, fridge-freezer, 2 televisions (sitting room and kitchen-diner), microwave oven, dish washer, washing machine, coffee maker, shower partition, toys and DVD player. Clean sheets and towels included. The house features a powerful log stove (unlimited wood for the fire and barbecue included in the price) as well as electric radiators.
CHILDREN: LA MATILDA has a clear focus on families, and thinking about the smallest we have toys available to entertain in those moments when parents prepare the food, rest or sit in the garden all to enjoy outdoor . Children also get distracted a lot with the harmless ducks living freely in the river that crosses LA MATILDA and the streets. The river presents no risk to children. Novales has a small playground with swings.
DOGS: As a member of the family, pets are also entitled to holidays, and LA MATILDA has been thinking about dogs enabling a broad space where they can be fenced but not tied up while the owners go to a restaurant, museum or beach. The area is dug in the ground which facilitates the vision of the owners, has drinking natural spring water that seeps through the land of the nearby mountains, and has extensive measures, 50% to 50% covered outdoor (avoiding the sun and rain). We receive many families with dogs for the peculiarity of the garden that has high stone walls that prevent pets from escaping and coming into contact with other animals. Dogs may enter the house but, for reasons of hygiene, it is not allowed to climb to couches and beds for hygiene. Consult cats. Pets canaries and other birds.

- Nearest Airport : Parayas at 25 kilometers distance;
- Travel Info: The town of Novales, located in the municipality of Alfoz de Lloredo, is a perfect enclave for tourism and enjoying the beaches thanks to its position between several attractive and much-visited villages, such as, Santillana del Mar 7km away and Cóbreces Beach (a fine sand beach) 4km. Santander, 36km away (15 minutes along the Cantabrian Motorway), Comillas 10km away. Torrelavega (and its shopping centres) is only 12km away. Finally, the Picos de Europa Mountains are just 85km from the town. Novales’ privileged position gives the town a special climate which is milder than the rest of the province. It is thanks to this mild climate that fruits including lemons and kiwis abound. The town has shops where you can food, bars, a health centre, chemists and banks, as well as excellent restaurants where both Cantabrian food and food of all types can be enjoyed at very reasonable prices. Novales is surrounded by spectacular scenery and has conserved the close-knit environment of Cantabrian towns. It’s attractions include the baroque La Asunción church from the 16th century, (the bell tower can be seen from the property). It was built in 1574 and features highly-valued altarpieces. Novales’ tourist attractions were put beyond doubt when it was awarded the “Pueblo de Cantabria” (Best Cantabrian Town Award) in 2005.

- Prices are for renting the entire house, large garden, and the number of people occupying the house at night - Entrance to the house after 14:30 (earlier if possible to enter the house is free), leaving the house until 12:00. July, August and first fortnight of September, the house is rented from Saturday to Saturday. In May, June and September may require a minimum of 5 nights unless the reservation is very close -In the quiet of the countryside, the house is not rented to youth groups, or for mass or group celebrations The owners do not live close so as to ensure the total privacy of the occupants of the house Pets allowed - Pets welcome.
