The village boasts 2 bars, one of which offers lunchtime food, and a pharmacy and is also served by delivery vans several times a week. There are lovely walks in and around the village with beautiful views of the mountains and over to Comillas and the coast. 10 minutes drive to nearest beach (Comillas), 5 minutes to Cabezon de la Sal with its supermarkets, shops, bars, restaurants and leisure complex, approx 1 hour to Potes, the Picos de Europa and Alto Campoo ski centre

One double and one twin bedroom. Bathroom with bath and over- bath shower. Fully fitted kitchen with oven, hob, microwave, fridge, washer/dryer, cafetiere, kettle, toaster and electric juicer plus all necessary utensils/crockery. Light and airy lounge with large windows and door to terrace. There is a sofa bed for extra guests, comfortable chairs, dining table and chairs, tv, dvd and cd players. The apartment is centrally heated. The garden is enclosed and therefore secure for small children. This is a non-smoking apartment. Accessibility Although there are no special adaptations for wheelchair users there are no steps (but please note the shower is over the bath, not walk-in) Outside There is a terrace and large enclosed lawned garden with garden table/chairs and barbecue. There is a play area adjacent to the apartment with swings and roundabout for small children.

There is a golf course in Comillas, horse riding and surfing schools in San Vicente de la Barquera, a sports complex with tennis courts and indoor swimming pool in Cabezon de la Sal and lovely walking (and climbing for the more adventurous!) in the Picos de Europa and in the area generally. Cycling is also a popular pastime. Ski-ing is possible in Reinosa (45 mins) and in the Picos. Companies in San Vicente offer a variety of adventure sports such as horse riding, canoeing, rafting, and there are several surfing schools in the area. 
 
The nearest beach is Comillas (10 minutes drive). San Vicente de la Barquera (20 minutes drive) has 4km of lovely golden sands and is very popular with surfers. Oyambre, another very popular beach, is situated between the two. There are also many other beautiful beaches in the area.
