There are two sandy beaches within 10 minutes drive which have good facilities for swimming, sun bathing and family activities. The village itself has supermarkets, shops and restaurants to suit every taste and budget.
For those enjoying more strenuous activities there are several watersports centres close by offering sailing and diving.
If sightseeing is more your cup of tea, the island is home to the Cesar Manrique foundation which has several sites with modern art, sculpture and design.There's even a James Bond type house!
The island also has its own wine growing area and several vineyards offer tasting sessions. Make sure you have your designated driver at the ready
On several different days there are craft markets in the village and a larger one further afield every Sunday to get your holiday bargains.
If you want some nightlife, the village has numerous bars which open late or drive into Puerto del Carmen for night clubs, caberet and even a casino.
